Chapter 636: Invited Again

Other countries could compensate Luo Yue and repair their relations, but Indonesia could not. Its government had killed Luo Yue employees.

When Luo Yue issued its strong statement, and other nations scrambled to mend ties (at least until securing interference machines), Indonesia realized its mistake. Military specialist Malone had already warned that Luo Yue's electronic warfare capabilities were unparalleled. Could Indonesia withstand such a powerful adversary, especially one so close? The US remained silent, and the Union offered only neutral comments, pushing Indonesia into despair.

Indonesia would have paid Luo Yue's demanded compensation if it weren't so highโ€”ninety billion USD, an eighth of its GDP. Such a payment would cripple the nation's economy. But refusing payment would invite Luo Yue's wrath. Indonesia even resented South Korea; if not for a leaked South Korean video, proving Luo Yue's victimhood would have been far more difficult.

Ye Mo arrived in Jin City with Shen Qianqian, who immediately returned to the Shen family to make arrangements before her departure. Ye Mo visited Kang Hai Hospital, where he met Xu Wei and her family as they prepared for discharge. They were overjoyed to see him; he had saved Xu Wei's mother. Though Xu Wei insisted she had ample funds, her mother wished to leave the hospital.

โ€œBrother Ye, CEO Hu and CEO Luo visited this morning. Shen Yin also came last night but couldnโ€™t find you,โ€ Xu Wei said, explaining her inability to reach Ye Mo. She wanted to treat him to a meal as a thank you.

Ye Mo nodded. โ€œAre you staying in Jin City or going elsewhere? If you need a place, I can introduce you to Luo Yue.โ€

Xu Wei, though trusting Ye Mo, declined. โ€œBrother Ye, my brother and I plan to return home to pursue our development. Shen Yin helped Xiao Wu secure an internship; he no longer needs to study.โ€

While disappointed Xu Wei wouldn't go to Luo Yue, Ye Mo didnโ€™t pressure her. Knowing she felt obligated, he accepted her invitation to dinner.

The restaurant was upscale, but Xu Wei remained quiet. Xu Bingwu mirrored her silence, eating without speaking. Only Mother Xu exchanged glances between Ye Mo and Xu Wei. The meal felt awkward; Ye Mo wished to speak but didnโ€™t know how to initiate conversation.

Afterward, Xu Wei seemed to want to say something to Ye Mo, hesitating several times before finally bidding farewell. Seeing them leave, Ye Mo realized it might be their last meeting. He wished them well.

His phone buzzed. It was Han Zaixin.

โ€œYou finally answered! It was so stressful trying to reach you,โ€ Han Zaixin exclaimed, relieved, before adding, โ€œDonโ€™t hang up this time.โ€

Ye Mo knew Han Zaixin wanted help with the Space Flower blueprint, but it already belonged to him. Even if he provided the blueprint, they couldnโ€™t create it; they lacked the necessary extreme energy stone power source.

โ€œYe Mo, come to Beijing. I have something youโ€™ll want. Besides, youโ€™re Flying Snowโ€™s instructorโ€”itโ€™s been too long since your last visit. I just received a large shipment of high-quality ores; arenโ€™t you interested?โ€ Han Zaixinโ€™s words were a thinly veiled attempt to lure Ye Mo.

Ye Mo suspected Han Zaixin was facing trouble; he wouldnโ€™t normally resort to such tactics. However, the ores were tempting.

He hadnโ€™t even searched for the snow fox, let alone ores, due to other pressing matters. Only the Five Element Rockโ€™s rarity justified such an extensive search. Otherwise, heโ€™d be in the Duan Heng Ranges searching for the old nun and the Seven Star Formation, or exploring the small world for resources.

Despite his desire for the ores, he decided to meet Luo Ying in Ning Hai first, concerned she might dislike the bustling city. Luo Ying preferred quiet locations.

โ€œIโ€™ll be there in a day.โ€

Han Zaixin immediately hung up, fearing Ye Mo would change his mind. He knew Ye Moโ€™s character: once he agreed, he followed through.

Luo Ying lacked a phone, requiring Ye Mo to contact Beiwei, whose phone was off. He called Su Jingwen, who thankfully answered.

โ€œYe Mo, you finally called! Iโ€”โ€ Su Jingwenโ€™s tone was sharp.

Ye Mo awkwardly scratched his head, unsure how to describe his complex feelings toward Su Jingwen. He wanted to ask about Luo Ying and Beiwei but hesitated.

โ€œIs this about Luo Ying?โ€ Su Jingwen asked after a pause.

Then, Ye Mo heard Tang Beiweiโ€™s voice. Why was her phone off if she was home?
