Chapter 664: Meeting Dongfang Again

Translator: Timothy_ Editor: GlobeGlotter

Hearing the thunderous explosion, the Beijing University students stared in shock as snow flew into the sky. They could only see a large white patch of mist. The place Yi He had indicated was completely covered by an avalanche. Would the young man survive?

“That wasn’t just an avalanche; it seems some TNT was buried there,” Dongfang Wang said after a moment.

An Zhiqi fell silent, then said, “After such a huge explosion and avalanche, I don’t know if he—”

Everyone understood she doubted his survival.

“Huh, he seems fine. Look, he’s walking over,” Fu Li, the round-faced girl, said.

“How is that possible? He survived that explosion! Is he a god or something?” the man beside Yi He sighed.

Ye Mo approached, smiling. “I’m no god. I’d already left the mountain when the explosion occurred. The avalanche is quite large, though, so I suggest you leave.”

He paused. “There are plenty of interesting places in China. Why come all the way to Antarctica? Well then, I’ll be going. Goodbye!”

An Zhiqi introduced them. “Wait, Brother, I haven’t asked your name. I’m An Zhiqi. The shorter one is Xiao Dong; the girl beside him is Yi He. That tall guy is Chen Guang, and Fu Li is next to him. The thinner one is Dongfang Wang. We’re all Beijing University students. This is Chen Guang’s second trip to Antarctica.”

“Dongfang Wang?” Ye Mo mused, immediately thinking of Dongfang Xi and Dongfang Tang. Dongfang Xi didn’t particularly resemble Dongfang Tang, but Dongfang Wang bore a resemblance to both. He instantly recognized their familial connection.

They must be brothers from the Dongfang family.

Seeing Ye Mo’s silence, An Zhiqi asked, “Why are you quiet?”

Ye Mo smiled. “I’m Mo Ying. By the way, Dongfang Wang, have we met before? You seem familiar.”

The students noticed Ye Mo ignoring An Zhiqi to speak with Dongfang Wang and exchanged curious glances. Even An Zhiqi’s mouth turned down in dissatisfaction.

Seeing Dongfang Wang’s shocked expression, Ye Mo realized he’d been too abrupt. “Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I’ve seen someone who looks like you.”

Dongfang Wang studied Ye Mo, saying expressionlessly, “You’re right. Knowing them, you must be no ordinary person. One is called Dongfang Xi, the other Dongfang Tang. You may have seen one, or both.”

Ye Mo thought, That’s true. He and Dongfang Xi had a significant feud, and even though he'd killed him, he felt Dongfang Xi had gotten off lightly.

Should I kill this Dongfang Wang? He had no reason to spare anyone from the Dongfang family. Dongfang Tang had tricked him and escaped last time. Dealing with Dongfang Tang was his priority. Yet, he hesitated. Dongfang Wang hadn't harmed him, so killing him seemed inappropriate.

He asked, “Dongfang Wang, those two are your brothers, right? They’re not simple people. Do you know what they do?”

Dongfang Wang sneered. “I never considered them brothers. My surname is Dongfang, but I have nothing to do with the Dongfang family. Don't associate me with them. I am me, they are them.”

His tone was icy.

Ye Mo wondered, Are these brothers at odds, or is something else afoot? Though he had no reason to kill Dongfang Wang, he remained uneasy. Dongfang Xi and Dongfang Tang were enemies; who knew if Dongfang Wang might become one?

Dongfang Wang looked at Ye Mo. “I know you’re capable to be here in Antarctica. But if you kill me because of Dongfang Tang and Dongfang Xi, I will have died an unjust death.”

An Zhiqi watched them. Why was their conversation so strange? Why the talk of killing? Were they not on Earth anymore?

Ye Mo realized Dongfang Wang had sensed his killing intent.

He smiled, saying nothing. Dongfang Wang was astute, sensing his killing intent and deducing his enmity with his brothers from his words. The Dongfang family were intelligent. Were they all like this?

Seeing Ye Mo’s silence, Dongfang Wang said, “We share the same father, but not the same mother. After my father died, my mother and I were expelled from the Dongfang family. I’m no longer part of it. Your enmity with them doesn't concern me. My only kin is my mother. But I'll tell you this—the Dongfang family's ancestor is from Xi Tang, and their ultimate goal is to return to Xi Tang. That doesn't concern me, though.”

After their conversation, Ye Mo no longer wished to kill Dongfang Wang. Dongfang Wang hadn't threatened him, but even if he had, Ye Mo wouldn't fear him. Killing him now would show fear, detrimental to his dao heart. Yet, Dongfang Wang had tested him, so he could kill him.

Dongfang Wang’s words were puzzling. Ye Mo had traveled extensively in China but had never heard of Xi Tang.

Fu Li, seeing the tense atmosphere, said, “Sigh, I don’t understand anything you guys are saying. Let’s leave; the tour group sent a message.”

Ye Mo smiled at them. He was leaving.

Soon, Ye Mo disappeared from the glacier.

He then called Xu Yuehua, instructing her to investigate Dongfang Tang. He needed to know what Dongfang Tang was up to. The events in Luo Yue seemed strangely similar to Dongfang Xi’s schemes—plots within plots.
