Chapter 674: Strange Sister Yan

Many people watched the scene unfold.

โ€œWhen did we everโ€”?โ€ Ye Mo asked, speechless.

Before he could continue, Lin Man said, eyes red, โ€œYou dare ask when?! You already donโ€™t want to take responsibility for what you did last night!โ€

The surrounding people began to whisper amongst themselves.

Ye Mo was speechless. He had been on the glacier the previous night. What had he done?

โ€œHello, Iโ€™m Meng Kui, a business manager with Sika Communications in the U.S.,โ€ Meng Kui said, extending a hand with a smile. He didnโ€™t know Ye Mo. Even though Lin Man was his partner on the cruise, if Ye Mo was powerful, he wouldnโ€™t offend him for a woman. He needed to assess Ye Moโ€™s background.

Sika Communications? The name was familiar to Ye Mo. He remembered; it belonged to the Song family.

โ€œIโ€™m Mo Ying. I travel the world and collect rare stones. If I like a stone, Iโ€™ll buy it regardless of price,โ€ Ye Mo said, gauging Meng Kuiโ€™s reaction.

Meng Kui seemed pleased. Ye Mo immediately knew Meng Kui didnโ€™t understand the value of spirit stones, or even know what he possessed.

โ€œI see, Mr. Mo likes rare stones. I do too,โ€ Meng Kui said readily.

Ye Mo nodded. โ€œYes, Iโ€™ve spent almost my entire fortune on rare stones, yet few truly appeal to me.โ€

Meng Kui grew more anxious. He knew his stones were valuable, but he wasnโ€™t sure how valuable. He was cautious and didnโ€™t dare let others appraise them. Their origin was dubious, and revealing it could cost him his life.

โ€œBrother Mo, Iโ€™m also interested in rare stones. Would you care to discuss them with me?โ€ Meng Kui asked.

Ye Mo was, of course, interested.

Ye Mo smiled. โ€œBrother Meng, we share a common interest. I enjoy discussing rare stones with people like you. My room is this way, please.โ€

Watching Ye Mo and Meng Kui leave together, Lin Manโ€™s expression soured. The onlookers dispersed. A cold-faced woman emerged from somewhere, sneering at the spot Ye Mo had occupied moments before.

โ€œThere are no good men in this world. I was willing to take the initiative, but apparently, they prefer each other,โ€ Lin Man muttered, dissatisfied.

Xi Huanshan looked disappointedly at Ye Moโ€™s retreating back. After a moment, she said, โ€œThat Meng Kui is no good, but the big-bearded man was actually a decent person.โ€

โ€œSure, very decent. You were practically throwing yourself at him, and he played dumb. Decent my ass,โ€ Lin Man retorted. Sheโ€™d even been willing to go with the big-bearded man and Huanshan, but he preferred men.

Lin Man declared, โ€œI wonโ€™t let Meng Kui touch my bed again, no matter how rich he is. Iโ€™m not a woman who needs a man to survive.โ€

โ€œTo be honest, I have a feeling the bearded man wasnโ€™t trying to flirt with us,โ€ Xi Huanshan mused. She felt heโ€™d approached them to inquire about the Luo Yue war.

Even Meng Kui admired Ye Moโ€™s room. The opulence spoke volumes of his wealth.

Ye Mo patiently spoke with Meng Kui for about ten minutes. Just as he was about to mention the spirit stones, Meng Kui produced them from his bag.

Finally, Ye Mo thought.

โ€œBrother Mo, have you ever seen stones like these?โ€ Meng Kui showed them to Ye Mo.

Half an hour later, Meng Kui walked away from Ye Moโ€™s room, carrying a large bag. He pondered the manโ€™s wealth. The stones heโ€™d offered had been bought for $800,000 USD! Mo Ying hadnโ€™t even haggled. He couldnโ€™t understand how Mr. Mo had that much cash readily available.

Another mystery remained: why had he so carelessly told the bearded man about the stonesโ€™ origin? He regretted it instantly, but it was too late.

Ye Mo played with the stones for a while before putting them away. He hadnโ€™t expected to acquire three spirit stones for $800,000 USD. The only regret was that Meng Kui had found them by chance.

A month prior, Meng Kui had been traveling in Canada. One night, at a tourist spot, heโ€™d witnessed a fight between two men. Heโ€™d hidden, afraid to intervene. When he emerged, both men were dead. He discovered a wooden box containing the stones on one of the bodies.

Meng Kui knew they werenโ€™t ordinary stones. After acquiring them, heโ€™d intended to immediately travel to Hong Kong and sell them. Heโ€™d managed to sell them before even reaching Hong Kong. He knew the stones were worth more than $800,000, but he was relieved to sell them at that price. Carrying them constantly made him uneasy.

Ye Mo shook his head, his thoughts turning to Sister Yan. As soon as he stepped out of the room, he extended his spirit sense.

Though his meridians hadnโ€™t fully recovered, his spirit sense now reached 1500 meters, significantly further than the 1200 meters previously.

He soon located Sister Yan in a low-quality room. Something felt amiss. Heโ€™d given her a substantial sum; why was she staying in such poor accommodations?

Ye Mo approached her door and knocked.

Yin Qingyan was startled. She knew no one on the ship. Who could be knocking?

Her powers had finally returned, so she wasnโ€™t afraid. Seeing the big-bearded man, her expression changed drastically. โ€œWho are you? I donโ€™t know you, go away!โ€

She started to close the door.

Ye Mo knew Sister Yan wouldnโ€™t recognize him, and people were walking in the corridor. So, he pushed past her, entered the room, and closed the door.

Ying Qingyan prepared to attack, but Ye Mo quickly said, โ€œSister Yan, itโ€™s me! Ye Mo!โ€ Calling her aunt felt too awkward, so he stuck with Sister Yan.

โ€œDo you know me?โ€ Ying Qingyanโ€™s expression changed, halting her attack. โ€œAre you Ye Mo?โ€

Ye Mo removed his mask and smiled. โ€œI am Ye Mo.โ€

โ€œHuh!โ€ She saw it was him. But her joy was fleeting. She pushed him. โ€œGet out! Go away!โ€

Her attitude shift baffled Ye Mo. He noticed something amiss. Sister Yanโ€™s neck was flushed pink.

โ€œSister Yan,โ€ he called. Seeing her cry, he hesitated, unsure whether to leave. Heโ€™d expected her to be overjoyed to see him.

After a long time, she calmed down and suddenly asked, โ€œDid you see the diary I gave you?โ€

โ€œYes, I saw it,โ€ Ye Mo replied, wanting to clarify that he'd only seen the cover, but Sister Yan's neck flushed even redder, and she began crying again.
