Chapter 675: Let It Go
Ying Qinyang was mortified. She hadn't planned on seeing Ye Mo again after giving him her diary; it was too embarrassing. The diary's final entry detailed the day she saw him. Giving him the diary was her attempt to sever all ties after attending to personal matters. She wouldn't visit Luo Yue or Ye Mo, and if she did, it would be secretly, to avoid awkwardness.
Yet, the world was small. A year after parting ways with Ye Mo, she found herself on the same boat.
Ye Mo looked helplessly at Sister Yan, unsure how to proceed. She was his aunt, and he knew she cared for him, so her reaction baffled him.
Ying Qinyang sniffed, then, seeing Ye Mo remain motionless, she stood and yelled, “Look at yourself! You're from a prominent family, yet you consort with random women on a cruise and sleep with them! And men, too? I'm so disappointed!”
Ye Mo, having never read the diary's last entry or seen the hidden letter, was unaware of Sister Yan's thoughts. He immediately realized her misunderstanding.
“Sister Yan, it’s not what you think, let me explain—”
Before he could finish, Ying Qinyang began pushing him. “Go! I don’t want to see you.”
Ye Mo knew he could resist, but she was his aunt, so he obeyed.
“Sister Yan, I’m in seaside room C326,” he said, as she pushed him out.
Seeing people approaching, Ye Mo sighed and hurried back to his room, wanting to avoid recognition.
Ying Qinyang touched her face, feeling increasingly embarrassed. “If I’d known this would happen, I wouldn’t have written that last part. I’m an aunt!” Her face burned.
…
Ye Mo returned to his room, pondering the diary and Sister Yan’s strange behavior. He hadn't read it; he could anytime, there was no rush. It was simply a record of her life.
More important to Ye Mo than the diary was repairing his meridians. He’d just acquired three spirit stones, so even if Sister Yan misunderstood, he didn't mind; he was quite happy.
He closed the door, hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign, and began repairing his meridians.
…
A day passed quickly, and Ying Qinyang grew worried. The awkwardness would be temporary, but since Ye Mo knew, he should address it. A day passed, and he still hadn’t sought her out. Was he truly angry?
Given her embarrassment, she couldn't approach him. She was still his aunt.
The second day passed with no news. Ying Qinyang even visited the restaurant several times, but saw no sign of Ye Mo. She considered asking the woman with Lin Man, but the thought of that woman sleeping with Ye Mo was too uncomfortable.
On the third day, she finally relented and went to his room.
The "Do Not Disturb" sign enraged her.
Meanwhile, Ye Mo was ecstatic. He'd fully recovered his meridians, progressing from stage five mid-stage to tertiary stage. Though he'd used the spirit stone from the auction, he was thrilled. His current progress, aided by his three new spirit stones, meant reaching stage six was certain.
However, spirit stones were rare, so he hesitated to use them yet. He'd aim for a breakthrough at minimal cost.
After showering, Ye Mo was about to visit Sister Yan, perhaps share a meal before repairing his flying sword, when a knock sounded.
His spirit sense immediately detected an angry, worried Sister Yan. She'd removed her disguise, resembling the young girl in her diary's picture.
Were he unaware of her age, he’d mistake her for a university student.
He recalled Sister Yan's fall in the bathroom; her figure had momentarily captivated him.
Knock knock—
Ye Mo quickly opened the door.
The moment Ying Qinyang saw him, her worry vanished, replaced by a cool, sulky expression.
Bang— She slammed the door, shouting, “Why haven’t you gone out for days? Why don’t you just bore yourself to death?”
Ye Mo opened his mouth, but she continued, “What’s wrong with you? Wanting a woman like that? And you ignore me for days—what’s that about?!”
Ye Mo stared, finding her quite different from his impression.
Seeing his silence, Ying Qinyang blushed, approached, and suddenly hugged him.
A faint fragrance reached Ye Mo, and he instinctively inhaled. The softness of her chest pressed against his, causing a surge of heat.
Hot energy flared in his stomach. He wasn’t a novice; he knew what was happening and that it was wrong. Sister Yan was his aunt.
“Aunt—” He instinctively tried to push her away.
Ying Qinyang hugged him tighter. “You’ve read my diary and letter. Are you still going to call me aunt?”
Her voice rose. “And stop seeing those women, or you’ll face my wrath! What about Ning Qingxue? Isn’t she your wife?”
Suddenly, she released him, pinching his ear. “Is your wife uglier than those two, hmm? I’m by your side now, so forget those women!”
Ye Mo’s face flushed; his aunt was audacious.
“What’s with the embarrassment? Even if I like you, so what? I’m not your real aunt anyway.” Ying Qinyang, seeing his embarrassment, felt happy. Letting go of her inhibitions felt right.
“What? Sister Yan, you’re not my real aunt?!” Ye Mo was shocked.
“No. My master found me. I thought my sister wasn’t his real daughter, but it turns out I wasn’t either.” Ying Qinyang paused, looking worried. “You didn’t know? Didn’t you read the diary?”
Ye Mo smiled bitterly. “I didn’t finish it. I never found the time…”
Ying Qinyang’s face exploded crimson. She pushed Ye Mo away, shouting, “Give me the diary! Now!”
