Chapter 789: I Also Want to Cultivate

โ€œSomeoneโ€™s blocking the road!โ€ the driver exclaimed, slamming on the brakes.

Before Lu Lipin could respond, the taxi driver leading the way said, โ€œThatโ€™s the man I mentioned.โ€

Lu Lipinโ€™s heart pounded. He sensed danger; this was no ordinary person. It seemed the man knew their intentions and had deliberately intercepted them.

Before Lu Lipin could speak, Ye Mo opened the van doorโ€”how, no one knew. The four men stared, bewildered. They seemed less like robbers, and more like Ye Mo was the intruder.

Holding up a luminous pearl, Ye Mo said, โ€œYou want this, right? Pull over.โ€

A soft luminescence filled the van.

โ€œA luminous pearl?!โ€ Lu Lipin exclaimed, overjoyed. It was real. He almost tried to seize it, but hesitated.

โ€œPull over,โ€ Lu Lipin instructed, pointing to a distant corner.

The men instinctively gripped their weapons. Regardless of why Ye Mo had the pearl, it was destined for the Bao She Hall.

Ye Mo pocketed the pearl. The van soon stopped. Lu Lipin reached for his gun, but before he could draw it, red lights flashed. Before the others could react, they were engulfed in fire and vanished.

Lu Lipin stared, dumbfounded. Ye Mo regarded him with a sardonic smile. The men had disintegrated into dust without a sound. If he hadnโ€™t witnessed it, he wouldn't believe it.

Lu Lipin trembled. Heโ€™d seen combat, but nothing like this.

โ€œWhereโ€ฆwhere are they?โ€ he stammered, instantly realizing his question's absurdity.

โ€œWas this your idea, or is someone behind you?โ€ Ye Mo asked. If not for this question, Lu Lipin would be dead as well.

Lu Lipin's teeth chattered. He dared not lie. โ€œMy older brother, Di Dongbing of the Bao She Hall.โ€

Di Dongbing? Ye Mo didn't know him, nor did he care. His priorities were dinner with Yimo and Song Yangzhu. He casually incinerated Lu Lipin with a fireball and left the van.

Song Yangzhu and Yimo possessed few belongingsโ€”mostly daily necessities and Yimoโ€™s books.

โ€œDad, thereโ€™s a lot. Should I call a car?โ€ Yimo asked.

โ€œNo need,โ€ Ye Mo replied, casually storing everything in his ring. He decided to reveal his cultivation.

Yimo and Song Yangzhu gapedโ€”where had everything gone?

โ€œDad, are you a magician?โ€ Yimo asked after a long pause.

Ye Mo took their hands, explaining his cultivation.

โ€œDad, can you really fly?โ€ Yimo peppered him with questions.

Ye Mo scooped them into his arms and produced his flying sword, a purple glow emanating from it. They soared into the clouds.

Yimo, overwhelmed, could barely speak, while Song Yangzhu was stunned. She knew Ye Mo was extraordinary, but this exceeded her expectations. The reality of the situation was almost unbelievable.

โ€œDad, is this cultivation? I want to cultivate too!โ€ Yimo exclaimed excitedly, hugging Ye Mo.

Di Dongbing's cheerful mood was shattered again. The failure to secure the luminous pearl nearly sent him into a rage. This was the second time his good mood had been ruined by frantic footsteps.

But upon seeing the visitor, his anger vanished. He sat down, masking his expression.

It was his niece, Di Caifeng. Despite being his niece, her status rivaled, if not surpassed, his, thanks to her master.

โ€œCaifeng, what brings you here in such a hurry? Your master isn't arriving until tonight. Have some tea,โ€ Di Dongbing offered, pouring tea.

Di Caifeng sat rigidly. โ€œUncle Bing, Cousin Di Hua was brutally attacked. Heโ€™s in the hospital. The doctor says he may lose his hearing, his face is disfigured, and he's lost all his teeth.โ€

โ€œWhat?!โ€ Di Dongbing leapt to his feet, enraged. His son? Who dared?

โ€œWho did it? Where is he?โ€ Di Dongbing demanded, his face contorted. He assumed his nieceโ€™s presence meant the culprit was within reach. In Ning Hai, capturing anyone was a simple matter of command.

Di Caifeng replied gravely, โ€œUncle Bing, sit. This is more complex than it seems. I was there. The difference in power was too vast; I couldn't intervene. But this isn't over. And I don't mean we should seek him; he might come for us.โ€
