Chapter 132: He's Looking for a Girl
Professor Ruger favored Marvin among the junior students. For the past few years, Principal Bounty had hoped Marvin would speak at Holy Nile Academy, but a recent surgery had prevented it. Therefore, Professor Ruger was surprised to see Marvin at the Ivory Council. Marvin was wearing an unbuttoned shirt.
"I know about Aunt's arrival. I'll leave now," Marvin said coldly, and walked away.
Greg was elated. Pamela had apparently reassured him that she would soon be his girlfriend. With Pamela, he felt confident he could defeat Olive and Divine, a prospect that filled him with joy.
Olive was still searching for a book in the library. Greg watched her from afar, feeling proud of his actions. Suddenly, a black sack fell over his head.
"What's going on?"
"Who—?"
Before Greg could finish, fists connected with his face. Marvin stood lazily, amused by Greg's muffled shouts. His subordinate, Phil, approached and handed him a book.
"Second Young Master, here it is."
Meanwhile, in the library, Olive continued her search for "Greater Doctor." After an exhaustive search, she was sweating profusely. A handsome man, familiar to her—the man who liked to sleep—approached. He had helped her twice, but she still didn't know his name.
"Why is he here?" she wondered.
He stood by a corner bookshelf, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a book. Two girls peeked at him and blushed.
"Wow, he's really handsome."
"Yes, he is. So alluring, I want to take a bite!"
Olive wasn't captivated, but her eyes fell on the book in his hand: "Greater Doctor," the very book she sought! She realized he must have taken it.
She approached cautiously, coughed lightly, and murmured, "Excuse me, could I borrow that book?"
Marvin stood up straight. The library was quiet; loud noises were prohibited. The slender girl before him had a beautiful voice. He was speechless.
Olive felt embarrassed, regretting her request. As she turned to leave, Marvin threw the book to her. She caught it, looked up, and he had vanished.
Marvin returned to the pharmacy and sat down. His phone rang; it was Bounty, the president of Holy Nile Academy. His aunt had called.
He answered.
"Hello, Aunt?"
Bounty's soothing voice responded, "Marvin, I just landed in LA. Where are you? I'll pick you up, and we can go to the Red Villa to see Grandma."
"You don't need to pick me up. Go ahead. I'll be there later."
"You must come tonight. Seriously? You've been in Los Angeles for so long, and haven't visited Grandma. We're having dinner at her place tonight." Marvin remained expressionless.
"Marvin, I spoke to your mother. Everyone's worried about your marriage. I'm throwing a dinner party in two days. I've invited a suitable girl, also in Los Angeles, to introduce to you."
Marvin pursed his lips. "I don't have time."
"Marvin," Bounty interrupted sternly. "Although you're an Augustine, you can't dictate when you marry. You once claimed to have met a girl in the Imperial City. You've spent over a year looking for her. That time is up. Have you found her?"
Phil, standing respectfully nearby, overheard. He knew his master was aloof and rarely attracted to girls. But years ago, in the Imperial City, he had witnessed Marvin perform street surgery with a girl, saving a badly injured man. The girl had left afterwards; Marvin had chased her, but she boarded a bus to Los Angeles. He'd been searching for her ever since.
"Marvin, the time is up. You're a brilliant academician, highly esteemed. But you left your school and career to search for a girl in LA. Almost a year is gone. If you haven't found her, we must proceed with our plans. We can't wait any longer!"
Marvin clenched his phone. After a moment of silence, he said quietly, "I've found her."
