Chapter 13

"Please don't talk to me!"

Professor Ruger's request wasn't excessive. Furthermore, he was a guest. Director Hudson quickly said, "Olive, go to the library and get Professor Ruger's 'Greater Doctor.'"

"Okay," Olive replied, turning and leaving.

A crowd of chattering students gathered outside the office.

"Professor Ruger flew all the way here to support Pamela. In the end, Olive lost by a landslide."

"Who wouldn't like a highly educated goddess like Pamela?"

Divine was furious. Professor Ruger had summoned Olive solely to humiliate her.

"Olive, our library is huge. Do you know how long it will take you to find that book? Professor Ruger is deliberately making things difficult for you. I'll go with you!"

Olive smiled and comforted Divine.

"Divine, you don't have to. I'll find it myself."

Olive patted Divine's shoulder and left. Once she was gone, Greg gloated, "Divine, Olive's good days are over. Since we know each other, I advise you to stay away from her."

Divine glared at Greg.

"Who the hell are you? Do I know you? Please don't talk to me!"

Divine's previous respect for Greg had vanished, replaced by contempt. This drastic change crushed Greg's ego, leaving him fuming.

He gazed at Divine's animated face; her flushed cheeks were undeniably cute. He couldn't look away.

A handsome young man approached.

"Divine, I bought two movie tickets. Want to go with me?"

Someone was already pursuing Divine!

Greg was intensely uncomfortable. The girl who had always been readily available was suddenly highly sought after—and no longer his.

Pamela found Greg outside the pharmacy.

"Team Leader Greg, why are you here?"

Greg was clearly in a bad mood, needing some fresh air. Seeing Pamela, however, calmed him; she was the goddess he adored.

"Pamela, don't worry, Olive can't find the book. 'Greater Doctor' is with me."

Greg pulled the book from his pocket.

Pamela smiled happily.

"Team Leader Greg, thank you. No matter what, you're always there to help." Greg hugged Pamela.

"Pamela, you should know I like you very much. Elvis is married to Olive. I'll do anything for you. Be my girlfriend?"

Pamela disliked Greg. While his offer was appealing, he couldn't compare to Elvis; her goal was to marry Mr. Augustine. However, Greg was currently useful, so she needed to keep him sweet to manipulate him.

Instead of refusing, she said softly, "Team Leader Greg, I don't like Elvis anymore. But right now, I want to focus on my education and career. Please give me time for relationships."

Greg smiled, relieved by her non-rejection.

"It's fine, Pamela. I'll wait."

After speaking with Greg, Pamela returned to Director Hudson's office. At the door, she encountered Professor Ruger leaving. She quickly hugged his arm. "Sir, thank you so much. You're very kind."

Professor Ruger, about Monica's age, was Holy Nile Academy's most prestigious professor. He favored Pamela, the first Los Angeles student admitted. Diligent and hardworking, she possessed the first volume of her mother's medical textbook, consistently topping her class. He considered her his best student.

Professor Ruger said, "Pamela, I've met Olive. Do you consider her a rival, even without a college education? You need to work hard to achieve an unassailable position. And regarding the CEO of Augustine Corporation—we medical students marry promising young doctors, not wealthy businessmen."

Pamela simply nodded and smiled, ignoring his advice.

Professor Ruger was impressed by her unchallenged acceptance. He produced a gold card.

"Pamela, this is for you."

"Sir, what is this?"

"It's an invitation to a dinner party for Los Angeles medical celebrities, hosted by the principal."

Pamela was speechless. She'd glimpsed the principal from afar but never spoken to him.

"Thank you, sir! You're like a mother to me. I love you so much!"

Professor Ruger basked in her praise until a familiar figure appeared, causing his expression to change. He excused himself hastily.

"Pamela, I have something to do. I'll see you later."

Professor Ruger followed the figure to a corner of the pharmacy.

"Master Marvin! It's really you!"

Marvin stopped.

"Master Marvin, why are you at the Ivory Council? The principal arrived today. Have you contacted your aunt yet?"

Professor Ruger recognized Marvin, the principal's nephew, Bounty Augustine, and a medical genius.
