Chapter 159: Something Bad About You

Olive knew Pamela coveted her husband. She snorted. "Mr. Augustine, why don't you talk to that talented girl?"

Elvis texted, "I'm afraid you'll hit me."

Olive replied, "So you have time to text but not to handle Pamela?"

Elvis pursed his lips. He could sense her anger.

Pamela looked at Elvis with shy admiration. She'd left the Ivory Council like a proud peacock, eager to pursue him. She was a sensation in LA, and she wanted Elvis to recognize her uniqueness. She anticipated his regret at choosing Olive, unable to understand his fascination with her. She felt certain he needed to be awakened.

Pamela took a deep breath. "Mr. Augustine, today Olive lied about saving Mrs. Robert. She claimed credit despite only having a high school diploma. I doubt she could even handle a silver needle. After I saved the old lady, Director Hudson was furious with Olive and dismissed her."

She continued, "However, Olive is my sister, and I sympathize. I think she's jealous. I'll create an opportunity for her to plead with Director Hudson for a second chance…"

Before she finished, Elvis laughed at his phone. Pamela fell silent; he seemed oblivious to her presence.

"Mr. Augustine, do you have work to do?" she asked tentatively.

Elvis put away his phone. His deep, narrow eyes landed on Pamela's face. "Oh, it's alright, I was just chatting with my wife."

Pamela's face paled. Had he been texting Olive? Even after Olive's scandal, he still didn't despise her?

"Mr. Augustine, Olive must be in a bad mood. Everyone hates her now. She's ashamed. This afternoon, she lost her voice."

Olive had left the institute at noon. Rumors circulated that she was hiding, too ashamed to face anyone. She was called "the lost voice."

Elvis looked at Pamela, stood, and approached her. Pamela's heart skipped a beat. His presence was powerful, almost godlike. Her face flushed, her heart pounded as he neared.

Even close up, his handsomeness was undeniable. Pamela had never been this close to him before. She wondered if he was about to confess his feelings.

"Mr. Augustine, are you okay?"

He stopped. He lowered his eyelids. "The last time you sent me a picture, I haven't thanked you yet."

"Uhm, I didn't mean to take it, but Olive and Marvin were very close," Pamela blurted out.

Elvis smiled slightly. He interrupted, "You were hiding and peeking. You must be tired, right?"

Pamela was stunned.

Elvis narrowed his eyes, his playful demeanor replaced by indifference and coldness. "I was chatting with my wife. Want to know what about? We were discussing you trying to seduce me."

Pamela gasped, her face reddening. She realized Elvis didn't care about her rivalry with Olive.

"Don't hit on me. Otherwise, even if Olive pleads for you, I can't save you from disappearing from this city." He turned and left.

Pamela leaned against the wall, her eyes red. She didn't understand his cruelty. Despite her achievements, he didn't notice her. Her pride and dignity felt shattered.

In the presidential suite, North asked Olive, "Are you really leaving Pamela to Elvis?"

Olive shrugged. "I believe he'll handle Pamela himself."

North stroked her hair. "A woman's security comes from a man. It seems Mr. Augustine has reassured you of his love."

Olive didn't deny feeling secure and at ease with Elvis.

North's assistant arrived. "Beauty North, the livestream is about to begin. Gwen's is starting at the same time."

"The competition is fierce. Pamela just posted she'll be live on Gwen's stream, and her numbers are surpassing ours," the assistant said anxiously.

North's livestream was booked by top celebrities; cancellation wasn't an option. Though Gwen was a new 'nerd princess,' she wasn't in North's league.

However, Pamela, angered by Elvis, seemed determined to join Gwen's livestream to spite North and Olive.

Olive put her arm around North. "North, we need to join forces. My appearance will draw traffic."

North raised an eyebrow. "Olive, don't push it. It's Pamela's moment; I doubt we can compete."

This cleaned version addresses grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting inconsistencies. It also removes unnecessary repetition and streamlines the narrative for better flow. The asterisks in the original, presumably censoring swear words, were also removed as they were unclear and unnecessary.
