Chapter 184: Olive, You’re Making Me Want You More
Elvis knew who it was without looking back.
“Ma’am, I can see you’re getting bolder by the day. You asked me to be your driver while I was still working, right?”
Olive hugged him tightly from behind, clinging like an octopus.
“Mr. Augustine, why are there no taxis here? Besides, am I not your lady again? You should be happy I requested you to drop me off.”
Elvis chuckled, held firmly by Olive. He closed his handsome eyes.
“Olive, you’re making me want you more by the day.”
The Hart family was shrouded in gloom. Patrick and Monica couldn't believe Olive had saved the old lady.
Patrick couldn't sit still. Since Olive's return, she had dragged him through hell countless times.
“Pamela, what’s wrong? I sent Olive to the countryside when she was nine. Where did she learn her medical skills? Please tell me this is a misunderstanding, a joke,” Patrick muttered incredulously.
Monica’s face was pale.
“Pamela, this is massive. If Olive can surpass you in medicine, it will be very difficult for you to challenge her in the future.”
Pamela understood her mother’s implication. She couldn’t compete with Olive romantically, and now professionally. Compared to Olive, she was a sore loser.
“Mom, Dad, Olive isn’t that easy to crack. I’m confident she’s hiding secrets. Dean Sebastian is holding a conference at the Starzeal Hotel. I want to go and hear things for myself!” Pamela grabbed her bag and left, unwilling to waste time exposing Olive.
Patrick and Monica quickly followed.
“Pamela, wait! Let’s go with you. We want to see what other games Olive has to play!”
All the media reporters from LA had gathered. The press conference was about to begin.
Dean Sebastian glanced at his watch and said to Director Hudson, “Director Hudson, the conference is almost here. Go see if Olive has arrived.”
“Yes, Dean.” Director Hudson went to find Olive.
A beautiful, sweet voice sounded,
“Dean, Director Hudson, I’m here. So sorry I’m late.” Olive ran over.
The spotlight immediately fell on Olive.
“Olive, it’s good you’re here. Let’s go to the rostrum now.”
“Okay, Dean.”
Dean Sebastian led Olive to the rostrum, signaling the start of the press conference.
“Dean Sebastian, Olive’s educational background is still a mystery. May we know the truth?”
“Dean Sebastian, everyone knows Olive is the daughter of the Harts, and Pamela has been a medical student since forever, even studying at the Holy Nile Academy. But Olive grew up in a countryside orphanage. How did she acquire her medical talent? Was she self-taught?”
“Academically, Olive seemed incapable of competing with Pamela. We want to know how she became so good at medicine.”
Reporters bombarded the Dean with questions.
Pamela, Patrick, and Monica were present, still struggling to believe Olive's medical talent. They anticipated exposing her lies.
Pamela, having always been in the spotlight, considered Olive a nobody. It didn't matter where Olive learned her skills; she lacked formal education. That was her defeat. This thought slightly comforted her, and she straightened proudly.
Dean Sebastian waved his hands, addressing the reporters and guests.
“Everyone, quiet please. Olive’s education has been a mystery. To be honest, it’s both simple and comprehensive. She’s a first-class medical graduate from the University of Imperial, and she also has a double postdoctoral degree…”
What?
A double postdoctoral degree?
Pamela’s heart seized. An orphan from the countryside with a double postdoctoral degree and a first-class degree from Imperial!
“Olive, you’re lying!” Pamela shouted, stepping forward.
The reporters turned, delighted at the unfolding drama. They grabbed their cameras.
Olive saw her family and wasn't surprised. Their presence made things more interesting.
Reporters turned their microphones to Pamela.
“Pamela, why do you think Olive is lying?”
“Do you have any evidence?”
“It turns out President Hart and Mrs. Hart are here.”
“Pamela, what do you think about Olive being a double postdoctoral graduate?”
Pamela glared at Olive, her face twisting into a sneer.
“Olive, a double postdoctoral degree holder? This is the joke of the century! You just turned twenty, and you claim to be a postdoctoral degree holder?”
Olive calmly watched Pamela's anger and hatred.
Olive sighed, responding to Pamela,
“Pamela, I know it might be difficult to believe, but it’s the truth.”
Pamela snorted coldly.
“Then let me ask you, what was your score on the college entrance examination? We all know the grades required for Imperial Medical University. Don’t lie!”
Everyone focused on Olive. She remained calm, curling her lips.
“I’m sorry, but I didn’t take a college entrance examination.”
Everyone’s expressions changed.
“Olive is a postdoctoral graduate, but she didn’t take the entrance exam? How is that possible?”
“Could it be that Olive is lying?”
Pamela laughed, believing Olive had failed.
“Olive, you didn’t take the entrance exam, so how did you get a doctoral degree? Educate us all,” Pamela urged.
