Chapter 19

Mrs. Augustine, why are you so red?

Elvis reached out and pulled her into his embrace. The wounds on his body hurt, but he didn't let go. He tightened his strong arms and pressed her against his chest. His lips found her face, and he kissed her.

"Stop crying, Olive," he coaxed, his voice hoarse.

Olive, a doctor who had seen countless sick people, nearly fainted when she heard about his car accident. Else was fiercely independent, never revealing his feelings, so his admission of pain instantly signaled something serious to Olive.

The thought of what might have happened to him made her tremble. She tugged at his hospital gown and looked at him with tears in her eyes.

"You're still injured. Let me go, or the wounds might worsen."

Elvis kissed her eyes and mumbled, "Let me hold you for a while, please. I don't feel any pain."

"Mr. Augustine, don't think I'll forgive you just because you're sick! I've always warned you to drive slowly, but you're so stubborn and rarely listen!" Olive scolded angrily. She sniffed and continued, "And explain to me what you were doing on the street when you said you were working on documents in the office?" Her eyes were intense.

Elvis didn't want her to know where he'd been. He didn't want her to know he hadn't been at the office the previous night, that he'd been sitting in his car, watching her and Marvin together. He didn't want her to see how jealous and envious he was of her closeness to his brother.

"Mrs. Augustine, please, I'm sick. Let me rest," Elvis said, burying his handsome face in her long hair and closing his eyes.

Olive reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. She blinked back tears and whispered in his ear, "What if something bad had happened to you? What do you think Grandma would do?" Her words cut deep. He hugged her and nodded solemnly.

"I promise that no matter what happens in the future, I will never drive fast."

Olive stayed at the hospital for a day. She didn't dare call the Red Villa; she couldn't tell Mrs. Samantha that Elvis had been in a car accident. She took a leave of absence from the institute to care for him. He was injured and couldn't bathe, so Olive used warm water and a towel to wipe his body, carefully avoiding his bandages. After cleaning him, she stood to empty the water from the gold bucket.

"Mrs. Augustine," Elvis called out. Olive stopped and turned to look at him.

Chapter 153

Mrs. Augustine, why are you so red?

"Aren't you forgetting somewhere?"

"Nope, I've cleaned everywhere," Olive shook her head.

Elvis leaned lazily on the bed. The blue hospital gown did nothing to diminish his elegance. He gazed at Olive and pointed at his pants. "There. Help me wipe there, too."

Olive's eyes widened in surprise. "I don't want to. Wipe it yourself. Your hand isn't wounded."

Elvis frowned and pleaded, "I really don't have the strength. Please help me."

Olive suspected he was deliberately trying to get her to clean that area.

"Mrs. Augustine, how can you refuse? We're talking about hygiene here. I'm obsessed with cleanliness, so I won't feel comfortable if that area isn't clean as well."

Olive looked at his pitiful face. "I'll just call a male nurse."

"Female," Elvis interrupted.

What? He actually wanted a female nurse to clean him there?

Olive threw the towel at his handsome face. He didn't dodge it; instead, he caught it. A sinister smile played on his lips.

"You can call a female nurse, or you can do it yourself. Choose quickly."

"You scum," Olive muttered under her breath. She compromised. "Okay, I'll wipe it for you!"

Olive dipped the towel in the disinfected water and sat on the edge of the bed. Closing her eyes, she gripped his pants. She took a deep breath, trying not to imagine what lay beneath, focusing on the fact that he was a patient who needed care.

However, Olive's face reddened as she squeezed her eyes shut. She had never done this for a man before.

Elvis saw her hesitation. He clasped her wrist. "Mrs. Augustine, you're just cleaning my body. Why is your face so red? What impure things are you thinking about?"

"I wasn't thinking about anything!"

"Then quickly wipe it, girl," Elvis chuckled.

"This is a hospital, Elvis! Let go of my hand! Don't be a hooligan!"

Elvis covered her mouth with his other hand.

A knock sounded on the door, followed by the doctor's voice.

Mrs. Augustine, why are you so red?

"The doctor's here," he announced.

Olive quickly pulled away, pushing Elvis back. He covered his eyes, lowering his voice. "Pull up my pants."

The doctor was still outside. Olive didn't dare argue, quickly helping him pull up his pants.

"It's still a little exposed. I can't look like this for the doctor," Elvis added.

Olive smiled and shook her head. She pulled up the quilt to cover him properly. It would be shameful if anyone knew what they'd been doing.

"I'll ignore you from now on. Bye!" Olive laughed lightly and left the room for the doctor.

The final "(5) www." appears to be extraneous and has been removed. There are also inconsistencies in chapter numbering (19 and then 153). This needs to be addressed in the original source material.
