Chapter 192

"Olive, come over, okay?"

Elvis didn't know how fast he was driving. As the truck sped past, the headlights stung his eyes.

When Elvis was younger, he'd been in several life-threatening situations. Even face-to-face with death, he'd been fearless. But now, his eyes widened, and his large hand gripped the steering wheel, desperately trying to save himself.

He truly didn't want to die anymore. He had Olive now; she was his reason to live.

Before meeting Olive, he hadn't realized how serious his illness was. But once she entered his life, he craved wellness. All he wanted was to improve himself, to become a better person.

However, none of his desires had yet materialized. He slammed the steering wheel, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom slid past the truck. The car crashed into a streetlight, sending sparks flying. The Rolls-Royce Phantom, a world-class luxury car, offered superior protection in accidents. Although the front of the car was damaged, Elvis escaped death.

He sat behind the wheel, his body racked by the violent collision. His vision was black; he could see nothing.

People quickly rushed over and opened the driver's door.

"Mister, can you hear me?"

Elvis's ears were ringing. He didn't respond.

"Sir, we've already called an ambulance. They'll be here soon."

Everyone stared at Elvis. He was dressed in an expensive black suit. Despite the accident, he still looked rigorous and well-dressed. His body was covered in blood, but the source of his injuries was unclear.

The rescuers noticed Elvis persistently searching for something.

"Sir, are you looking for your phone?" one rescuer asked.

A woman handed Elvis the phone that had fallen out when the door was opened. He quickly dialed Olive's number.

Olive answered. Her sweet voice came over the line,

"Hello, Mr. Augustine."

Laughter followed. Divine said,

"Olive, is it Mr. Augustine calling? It seems President Augustine is very clingy!"

Elvis raised his pale lips and called out in a low voice,

"Olive."

Olive immediately sensed something was wrong. She excused herself to a quieter place. Once alone, she nervously asked,

"Mr. Augustine, what's wrong? Why do you sound like that?"

"Olive, come over, okay?" Elvis clutched his phone and mumbled.

"Mr. Augustine, what's wrong? Where are you?"

"I just got into a car accident. My body aches. Olive, it hurts a lot…" He muttered calmly.

He'd been in an accident and needed her immediately. His strength failed him, and he slowly let go of the phone.

"Mr. Augustine? Mr. Augustine!" Olive's nervous voice filled the line.

Olive rushed to the hospital. Elvis had already been sent to a ward and was in a coma.

"Doctor, is his injury severe?" Olive anxiously asked.

"The patient's body severely impacted the steering wheel; he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. However, he doesn't have any major problems; just several bruises. He should wake up soon and will remain for observation after that," the doctor explained. Olive nodded sadly.

"Thank you, doctor."

"It's fine, ma'am. I'll be going now." The doctor left.

Olive stood by Elvis's hospital bed, watching him in his coma. Her clear eyes reddened, and tears welled up.

Dean Marvin and Divine had accompanied Olive to the hospital. Divine hugged Olive's shoulder.

"Olive, I heard Mr. Augustine was driving very fast."

Olive held Divine's hands.

"Divine, I want to stay here with Mr. Augustine. Thank you all so much for coming. You can all go home now. Thank you."

"Okay, Olive. Just call us, okay?"

Dean Sebastian and Divine left the room. Marvin paused at the door, looking at Olive sitting on the edge of the bed, holding Elvis's hands. He then left and waited in the waiting room all night.

The next morning at dawn, Elvis opened his eyes, his consciousness slowly returning. The pungent smell of disinfectant told him he was in the hospital.

He shifted slightly, realizing his hand was tightly held. He looked sideways and saw Olive asleep on the bed, still clinging to his hand.

He rolled over, bringing his pale face close to hers. The sheet under her face was stained with tears.

All the turmoil in Elvis's heart finally calmed. He turned his head and gently kissed her eyes.

His kiss awoke Olive. She opened her eyes and stared at him in awe.

"Mr. Augustine, you're awake! If you feel any pain, just let me know," Olive said, concerned.

Elvis touched her face.

"It's fine. Now that I've seen you, I don't feel any more pain."

Olive clenched her fists and lightly hit his shoulder.

"You scared me to death! Mr. Augustine, you really scared me!"

"Don't scare me like that again," she choked out, tears rolling down her cheeks.
