Chapter 37: Want to Sleep with Me?

Elvis knocked on the bathroom door. Olive, maskless, opened it slightly, her face hidden behind the door panel.

"Thank you for your kindness. Please let me have it," she said.

Steaming heat and the scent of shower gel billowed out. Elvis saw her damp, white skin. He handed her a sanitary pad and a new dress, but hesitated to let go. Olive tugged, and he finally released it. She quickly closed the door.

Elvis smoked by the window. When Olive emerged, wearing a cherry-red, suspender dress, her beauty was striking.

Her eyes fell on his face. She frowned gently. "Why are you smoking again?"

Elvis pocketed his hands and remained silent. Olive examined his injured hand.

"Of course it hurts," he muttered. "If you knew it would hurt, why did you say those things, knowing I'd be angry?"

Olive released his hand and turned to leave. Elvis grabbed her waist, pulling her against the window, puffing smoke in her face.

Olive choked and coughed. "Mr. Augustine, what are you doing? Are you finished?" she pushed him.

"Who was that woman who answered your call?" He frowned. "What?"

Olive snatched his cigarette, mimicking his action, puffing smoke in his face. He pinned her against the wall.

"Speak! Don't seduce me!" he warned in a low voice.

Olive sneered. "When it comes to seduction, I'm far behind Mr. Augustine. While flirting with me, you were with your lover on a business trip."

Elvis didn't understand. "Make it clearer."

"Mr. Augustine, I'll say it because you're shameless. That night you were away on a business trip, I called, and a woman answered. She said you were showering!"

Elvis checked his call log. He remembered his secretary, Andrew, had mentioned Rita, the public relations director, was with him that night. It was she who answered the call.

Elvis's eyes flashed coldly. He held Olive captive. "Be honest with me!"

"What do you mean? It's been revealed, so you're angry?" she asked provocatively.

Elvis took the cigarette from her and tossed it in the ashtray. "Mrs. Augustine, are you jealous?"

Olive denied it vehemently. "No, I'm not."

"Who sent me to find another woman over and over again?"

Olive was speechless. She'd thought exposing him would embarrass him, but he'd turned the tables.

"Elvis, you're shameless!" She punched him twice in the chest.

Elvis squinted at her, his gloom lifting. "Mrs. Augustine, your stubbornness. Just because my phone was answered, are you going to go ballistic if I'd slept with someone else?"

Olive froze, then exploded. "I'm not jealous, I said I'm not jealous!"

Elvis playfully pinched her nose. "Mrs. Augustine, although you say you aren't jealous, I still like you being jealous of me."

He released her. "Sleep here tonight."

He turned to leave. Olive stopped him. "Where are you going?"

Elvis glanced at her. "Do you want me to sleep with you?"

Olive's face reddened. She threw a pillow at him.

Elvis frowned and left the room.
