Chapter 62: Swipe His Card

"Where did you guys kiss?" North asked, her eyes beaming with joy.

"Just up to the neck," Olive replied shyly.

North was surprised. "Olive, Elvis is mature and abstinent. A man's maturity isn't just about good manners; it's also about wealth, power, and status. Most importantly, it's about his sexual prowess."

Olive smiled timidly.

"I think Elvis understands," North added. "He's just waiting for the perfect time."

Olive remained silent. She knew there was no arguing with North once she started her pronouncements.

North gazed into Olive's bright eyes, seeing her deep love for Elvis. North wasn't surprised; it was hard not to be captivated by him. She remembered the way Elvis looked at Olive—exactly how a man looks at his beloved.

North suddenly thought of Pamela. "Olive, what's the relationship between Elvis and Pamela? Did you ask him?"

"I did. He said Pamela saved his life once, so he's returning the favor," Olive replied, settling onto the couch.

North's face was a mask of questions. "Pamela doesn't seem like the type to save anyone. Let me guess—she sent someone to attack Elvis Augustine, then appeared as his savior?"

Olive stared admiringly at North. North had a knack for spotting the smallest clues and weaving them into epic narratives.

North turned to Olive. "What about the man you saved? Why didn't you save Elvis?"

"I guess I'll have to ask my seven-year-old self," Olive said.

North frowned. "Olive, I feel like Pamela is hiding something. After you left LA, why did she become such a medical genius? And how did she save Elvis Augustine?"

Regarding the first question, Olive suspected Pamela's rapid medical advancement was connected to her mother's death and her grandfather's coma. It remained a mystery. As for the second question, she truly didn't know how Pamela saved Elvis. He hadn't told her, and she suspected he was protecting her, as her savior.

Olive's biggest concern was Elvis viewing Pamela as his savior. She wasn't ready to share him with anyone, not even Pamela.

Erica's hired chef had prepared a delicious dinner. After the meal, Olive showered and dried her hair. Looking downstairs, she saw Elvis's Rolls-Royce Phantom. He hadn't left.

Olive lowered the blinds and closed the curtains.

North emerged from the bathroom. "Olive, President Augustine gave Pamela $1.2 million, right? How much did he give you?"

Olive stopped. "What?"

"Oh, my poor Olive," North said. "From a man's perspective, the amount he gives a woman shows how much he loves her. Elvis wouldn't have given you less, would he?"

Olive remembered Elvis giving her his black card. She'd never used it, but it was still in her bag. "Um, well, he did give me a card. Hang on, I think it's in this bag." She rummaged through her black bag on the dressing table, pulled out a black and gold card, and handed it to North.

North took a deep breath and stared at the "Augustine" lettering. "This card controls all of Elvis's assets. While he gave Pamela $1.2 million, he's given you the entire Augustine family empire's treasury. You've made a fortune!"

Olive hadn't realized the card's power. He'd given Pamela a pittance, but her a vault. She felt a surge of happiness.

"Olive, let's go shopping tomorrow," North exclaimed. "Boss Augustine's money is in our hands!"

Olive started to protest, but North stopped her. "Olive, Mr. Augustine has plenty of money, so don't worry about it. Besides, didn't he spend a huge amount on Pamela? You're his wife, Olive…"

Elvis was still downstairs. His car remained parked beneath the apartment building. Feeling tired, he texted Olive goodnight.

Olive was already in bed when the message arrived. She reached for her phone, but fell asleep before she could respond.

While waiting for a reply, Elvis glanced at the mark Olive had left on his arm. After a while, he dialed a number. A low, pleasant voice answered. "Why are you calling so late?" It was Raven.

Elvis lit a cigarette. He exhaled slowly. "Do you remember two years ago, when you were locked in that dark, windy room?"
