Listen to this chapter:

I had intended to send someone else, but I felt I should come and bring you back myself.

While I stared at my brother, I remained silent. His concern was overwhelming. I understood his worries.

"Where is the cure?" I asked.

He raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to give it to you right here?"

I looked around; several people were watching us.

Holding his hand, I went inside the hotel.

"No way. It's impossible to predict when someone might try to poison the cure. This place is full of enemies."

He laughed at my statement. Jason and I shared a strong bond. He was a brother who loved me deeply. If he hadn't saved me five years ago, I would have died in that forest. If he hadn't protected me, I would have been ridiculed.

We, two siblings, went to the reception area. He rented another room, but we went to my room first.

"Mom's very worried about you, Natalia," Jason said, sitting on the couch.

I poured him a glass of water and offered it to him.

"I know. I talked to her daily."

"You're going back tomorrow, right?" he asked, holding the glass.

I nodded. "Yeah."

"When?"

"Tomorrow night."

"Okay."

"Brother, let's go back together," I said, sitting on the bed.

He shook his head. "No. I have some things to do."

I gulped. "Brother, please don't hurt anyone."

After finishing his water, he stood and placed the glass on the small table near the couch.

"Don't worry. I'm not meeting that loser. It's purely business."

I stood. "If you say so. I'll go back with my driver."

"Good. And here's your cure."

He pulled a small, transparent bottle filled with red liquid from his pocket.

I took it, gripping it tightly. It was tiny, but the cure inside was powerful enough to help the inner wolf.

"Thank you, brother."

"Anytime. Now sleep well. See you tomorrow."

I walked him to the door.

I was happy to see my brother. His calm demeanor relieved me.

I closed the door and went to bed. I was happy to be able to help Alpha Lucas; it felt like recompense.

The next day, I received many calls from Harold, asking if I had the cure. I reassured him that I did.

When I reached the hospital, I called Harold, but he didn't answer; he was probably busy.

I called Auntie Grace to ask where she was. She said Uncle Lucas was in the operating room. Only his wolf could benefit from the cure.

After learning the operating room's location, I hurried there. Auntie Grace was sitting outside, with Adrian, his officials, and guards at a distance.

"Natalia," Auntie Grace whispered, noticing me.

I went to her. "How is Uncle Lucas?"

"He's inside. The doctors are preparing him for the cure. Did you get it?" Her voice was desperate; she was very worried about her husband.

I reached into my bag and took out the cure.

Everyone looked at it with surprise. The red liquid glistened under the hospital lights.

"Where did you get it?" Adrian asked.

Ignoring him, I said to Auntie Grace, "Uncle will be fine. Don't worry, Auntie."

The door opened, and Harold emerged, dressed in a white coat, mask, and gloves.

His eyes lit up. "Did you find the cure?"

"Of course. Here it is," I replied, handing it to him.

As Harold took the bottle, Adrian asked, "How do we know it's the cure you requested?"

I frowned. He was asking this after a whole week? Did he think I came here to kill his father?

Harold replied confidently, "We'll examine it first. It'll take an hour. After that, we'll begin the procedure."
