Chapter 1029: Transferring Essie to Another Kindergarten

Estella cried throughout the drive back to the Farwell residence. “I don’t want to transfer to another kindergarten, Daddy…” she sobbed, tugging at Lucian’s shirt.

Catalina was startled by their arrival. “What happened, Mr. Farwell?” Lucian remained impassive.

Hoping for Catalina’s help, Estella pleaded, “I don’t want to transfer, Ms. Catalina.”

Confused, Catalina questioned the transfer. Estella attended a Farwell-invested kindergarten; why the change? Furthermore, a transfer seemed ill-advised given Estella’s condition.

Worried, Catalina cautiously asked Lucian, “Why are you transferring Ms. Estella? She’s only just settled in; a sudden move might be detrimental.”

Lucian frowned, watching Estella’s unrestrained weeping. Her face was tear-streaked. Though momentarily sympathetic, he remembered Estella’s dependence on Roxanne.

If Roxanne had truly abandoned him, she would never be Estella’s mother. It was better to sever ties now, rather than let Estella endure further disappointment.

Lucian fabricated an excuse. “Farwell Group invested in a superior kindergarten. The students are from Horington’s most prominent families; it will benefit Essie socially.”

Catalina frowned but remained silent.

Estella wailed, “No! I don’t want to meet them! I want to play with Archie and Benny!”

“Then you’ll attend kindergarten at home,” Lucian declared, handing Estella to Catalina. “Take her upstairs.”

Catalina, feeling for Estella, protested, “Ms. Estella seems unhappy, Mr. Farwell. Perhaps you should reconsider.”

Lucian remained resolute.

Seeing his determination, Catalina took Estella upstairs. Estella’s cries subsided, accepting her father’s unyielding decision.

Catalina’s heart ached at Estella’s quiet sobbing. Estella always grew silent when her autism was triggered, even her crying ceasing.

Lucian felt a headache coming on as he watched them go. Essie’s condition was unstable, and Roxanne and her children heavily influenced her. He foresaw Essie’s reaction to this abrupt separation but felt he had no other choice.

He slumped onto the couch and called the kindergarten head, who was alarmed by Lucian’s request. “Transfer Essie? Is something wrong, Mr. Farwell? Please tell me; I’ll fix it!”

“Personal reasons, nothing to do with the kindergarten. Farwell Group’s funding remains unchanged,” Lucian replied calmly.

Relieved, the headmaster agreed and processed the transfer.
