Chapter 1029: Transferring Essie to Another Kindergarten
Estella cried throughout the drive back to the Farwell residence. โI donโt want to transfer to another kindergarten, Daddyโฆโ she sobbed, tugging at Lucianโs shirt.
Catalina was startled by their arrival. โWhat happened, Mr. Farwell?โ Lucian remained impassive.
Hoping for Catalinaโs help, Estella pleaded, โI donโt want to transfer, Ms. Catalina.โ
Confused, Catalina questioned the transfer. Estella attended a Farwell-invested kindergarten; why the change? Furthermore, a transfer seemed ill-advised given Estellaโs condition.
Worried, Catalina cautiously asked Lucian, โWhy are you transferring Ms. Estella? Sheโs only just settled in; a sudden move might be detrimental.โ
Lucian frowned, watching Estellaโs unrestrained weeping. Her face was tear-streaked. Though momentarily sympathetic, he remembered Estellaโs dependence on Roxanne.
If Roxanne had truly abandoned him, she would never be Estellaโs mother. It was better to sever ties now, rather than let Estella endure further disappointment.
Lucian fabricated an excuse. โFarwell Group invested in a superior kindergarten. The students are from Horingtonโs most prominent families; it will benefit Essie socially.โ
Catalina frowned but remained silent.
Estella wailed, โNo! I donโt want to meet them! I want to play with Archie and Benny!โ
โThen youโll attend kindergarten at home,โ Lucian declared, handing Estella to Catalina. โTake her upstairs.โ
Catalina, feeling for Estella, protested, โMs. Estella seems unhappy, Mr. Farwell. Perhaps you should reconsider.โ
Lucian remained resolute.
Seeing his determination, Catalina took Estella upstairs. Estellaโs cries subsided, accepting her fatherโs unyielding decision.
Catalinaโs heart ached at Estellaโs quiet sobbing. Estella always grew silent when her autism was triggered, even her crying ceasing.
Lucian felt a headache coming on as he watched them go. Essieโs condition was unstable, and Roxanne and her children heavily influenced her. He foresaw Essieโs reaction to this abrupt separation but felt he had no other choice.
He slumped onto the couch and called the kindergarten head, who was alarmed by Lucianโs request. โTransfer Essie? Is something wrong, Mr. Farwell? Please tell me; Iโll fix it!โ
โPersonal reasons, nothing to do with the kindergarten. Farwell Groupโs funding remains unchanged,โ Lucian replied calmly.
Relieved, the headmaster agreed and processed the transfer.
