Chapter 1029: Transferring Essie to Another Kindergarten

Estella cried throughout the drive back to the Farwell residence. โ€œI donโ€™t want to transfer to another kindergarten, Daddyโ€ฆโ€ she sobbed, tugging at Lucianโ€™s shirt.

Catalina was startled by their arrival. โ€œWhat happened, Mr. Farwell?โ€ Lucian remained impassive.

Hoping for Catalinaโ€™s help, Estella pleaded, โ€œI donโ€™t want to transfer, Ms. Catalina.โ€

Confused, Catalina questioned the transfer. Estella attended a Farwell-invested kindergarten; why the change? Furthermore, a transfer seemed ill-advised given Estellaโ€™s condition.

Worried, Catalina cautiously asked Lucian, โ€œWhy are you transferring Ms. Estella? Sheโ€™s only just settled in; a sudden move might be detrimental.โ€

Lucian frowned, watching Estellaโ€™s unrestrained weeping. Her face was tear-streaked. Though momentarily sympathetic, he remembered Estellaโ€™s dependence on Roxanne.

If Roxanne had truly abandoned him, she would never be Estellaโ€™s mother. It was better to sever ties now, rather than let Estella endure further disappointment.

Lucian fabricated an excuse. โ€œFarwell Group invested in a superior kindergarten. The students are from Horingtonโ€™s most prominent families; it will benefit Essie socially.โ€

Catalina frowned but remained silent.

Estella wailed, โ€œNo! I donโ€™t want to meet them! I want to play with Archie and Benny!โ€

โ€œThen youโ€™ll attend kindergarten at home,โ€ Lucian declared, handing Estella to Catalina. โ€œTake her upstairs.โ€

Catalina, feeling for Estella, protested, โ€œMs. Estella seems unhappy, Mr. Farwell. Perhaps you should reconsider.โ€

Lucian remained resolute.

Seeing his determination, Catalina took Estella upstairs. Estellaโ€™s cries subsided, accepting her fatherโ€™s unyielding decision.

Catalinaโ€™s heart ached at Estellaโ€™s quiet sobbing. Estella always grew silent when her autism was triggered, even her crying ceasing.

Lucian felt a headache coming on as he watched them go. Essieโ€™s condition was unstable, and Roxanne and her children heavily influenced her. He foresaw Essieโ€™s reaction to this abrupt separation but felt he had no other choice.

He slumped onto the couch and called the kindergarten head, who was alarmed by Lucianโ€™s request. โ€œTransfer Essie? Is something wrong, Mr. Farwell? Please tell me; Iโ€™ll fix it!โ€

โ€œPersonal reasons, nothing to do with the kindergarten. Farwell Groupโ€™s funding remains unchanged,โ€ Lucian replied calmly.

Relieved, the headmaster agreed and processed the transfer.
