Chapter 1028: Adding Fuel to the Fire

Jonathan had wanted to persuade Lucian further, but Lucian cut him off. “I have a meeting. We’ll talk later.” Jonathan had no choice but to leave the office.

Stepping out of Farwell Group, Jonathan regretted his earlier advice. If he’d known the situation's severity, he would have chosen his words more carefully. Roxanne showed no interest in Lucian, and he had given up on winning her over. He felt terrible for Essie, who deeply loved Roxanne and wished for her to be her mother—Roxanne being her biological mother. This meant a significant disappointment for Essie. There was only so much a child could bear.

Lucian, having considered the same, appeared outside the kindergarten that afternoon. Pippa quickly brought Estella to the gate after receiving his call. “Mr. Farwell, why—” She hesitated, noticing his gloomy expression, and refrained from asking why he was taking Estella home so suddenly. “I’ve already approved Essie’s leave…”

Lucian nodded, gesturing for Estella.

Estella was reluctant. “Do we have to go home now, Daddy? Can I wait until school ends?” She wanted to say goodbye to Archie and Benny.

Lucian nodded impassively. “Come.”

Estella obeyed, leaving the school. “Ms. Ward, please tell Archie and Benny I’m going home.”

“Okay!” Pippa replied cheerfully.

Lucian’s expression hardened, witnessing Estella’s closeness to Archie and Benny.

Walking hand in hand, Estella asked, “Why are we going home so suddenly, Daddy? Did something happen?”

Lucian stopped, meeting her gaze. “I’m planning on transferring you to another kindergarten.”

Estella froze. What? Another kindergarten? That means no more Archie and Benny!

“No! I don’t want to transfer!” Estella protested. She’d initially disliked kindergarten, but Archie and Benny made it enjoyable. She’d rather quit than transfer.

“Then you can attend kindergarten at home. I’ll hire the best teachers,” Lucian replied, leading her toward the head of kindergarten's office.

“No! I don’t want to!” Estella clung to his shirt, refusing to budge. If I transfer, I won’t see Ms. Jarvis, Archie, and Benny again!

“Why do I have to transfer, Daddy? You fought with Ms. Jarvis, not me! I don’t even see Ms. Jarvis at school!” she cried, exacerbating the situation.

Lucian’s face darkened.

“I’m not transferring!” Estella repeated, tears streaming down her face.

Finally, Lucian relented, patting her head reassuringly. “We’ll talk about this at home,” he said, carrying her to his car.
