Chapter 1031: So Mature For Their Age

While Pippa knew nothing of the family discord, Archie and Benny understood perfectly. Daddy must have transferred Essie because he fought with Mommy! He didn't want them to play with her anymore!

Archie and Benny's eyes reddened. Always obedient and composed in class, Pippa had never seen them cry. She found herself empathizing with them.

Kneeling beside them, she said gently, “Don’t worry. You three are very close, so Essie will surely visit often. Besides, she wouldn’t want to see you crying like this.”

Though still upset, they didn't want to trouble Pippa. Archie nodded obediently, taking Benny's hand. “Come on, Ms. Ward. Let’s go inside!”

Pippa breathed a sigh of relief at their composure, but still felt for them. My goodness… these boys are so mature for their age!

Apart from being quieter, Archie and Benny showed no unusual behavior throughout the day. Only at the end of class did their eyes redden.

Pippa saw their continued distress over Estella's departure but didn't know how to comfort them. She simply held their hands in silence.

Lysa arrived, frowning at their expressions. “What's wrong? Did you fight with other children?” Archie and Benny shook their heads. “Essie is transferring kindergartens, Ms. Lane.”

Lysa froze. Looking around, she realized Estella was gone. She'd thought Mr. Farwell had taken her home. Who knew…

“You can have your mother take you to Essie’s house to play,” Lysa offered, sounding uncertain. Lucian and Roxanne had cut off communication; Lysa didn't know what transpired between them, or if Roxanne would permit visits.

She could only try to reassure them. Archie and Benny pursed their lips and shook their heads. “Mommy and Daddy are still fighting, so we can't visit Essie!” They sniffled, trying to suppress their tears.

Helpless, Lysa sighed. At the mansion, she hurried Archie and Benny inside.

Roxanne awaited them. Immediately noticing their distress, she asked, “What’s wrong?”

Hearing her voice, Archie and Benny ran to her. Roxanne hugged them. “Tell me what happened.”

“Essie’s transferring, Mommy!” Benny replied. Roxanne's expression hardened.
