Chapter 1032

Archie and Benny told me Essie took the day off yesterday afternoon. I assumed Lucian had something urgent, so I didn’t give it much thought. Who knew Essie would be transferring the next day?

After composing herself, Roxanne asked, “Did she cry?” Estella had cried a lot when Archie and Benny were expelled, so she assumed they’d be upset about her leaving.

Benny shook his head. “We didn’t see Essie. Ms. Ward told us.” They didn’t know if Estella had cried.

Only after Roxanne’s question did they realize Estella was probably as upset as they were, if not more. Archie and Benny tugged anxiously at Roxanne’s shirt. “Let’s go visit Essie, Mommy! She must be really sad!”

Roxanne wanted to visit Estella, but the thought of the Farwell residence reminded her of what she’d seen that night. Lucian and Aubree were chatting happily outside the mansion. That’s probably why Lucian got Essie transferred. Aubree never liked us being close to Essie. If Lucian is with her, he’d naturally prioritize her feelings. I feel really bad for Essie, though. I wonder if she’s accepted Aubree…

Roxanne’s thoughts were interrupted by Lysa’s helpless sigh. Confused, Roxanne glanced at Lysa, who shook her head before entering the kitchen. Lysa had seen Estella around Roxanne and the boys. She couldn’t bear that Estella had to leave the people she liked.

Roxanne looked back at Archie and Benny. Their eyes were redder; they looked ready to cry. Roxanne rarely saw them cry, so she knew they were very upset. Benny tugged hard on her shirt. “Let’s go, Mommy!”

Roxanne brushed his hand away. “Mr. Farwell must have his reasons for getting Essie transferred,” she said calmly. Archie and Benny protested, “But Essie will miss us!”

Roxanne chuckled helplessly. “That’s true, but you won’t always be together. There will come a day when we have to say goodbye.”

Lucian probably knew that. That must be why he moved Essie so quickly. Roxanne continued, “Even if Essie hadn’t transferred, I’d still be taking you two overseas after my work here is done.”

Archie and Benny were bewildered. What? We’re still leaving? Didn’t Mommy give up on that plan?

As if reading their minds, Roxanne patted their heads. “Honestly, I’m at fault. I should have separated you two from Essie when I told her we were leaving.”

Archie and Benny couldn’t understand why they had to leave Estella.
