Chapter 1105: Forget Roxanne As Soon As Possible

Lucian frowned when Estella's schooling was mentioned, his gaze shifting to Aubree. Cayden volunteered, "Why don't I take her? It's inconvenient for you." He'd often collected Estella from kindergarten for Lucian in the past. But as he spoke, he noticed Lucian's intense stare on Aubree, a premonition of unease settling in his chest.

Lucian's voice confirmed his fears. "That's unnecessary. Essie's transferred to a new school; you don't know the location." Cayden's eyes widened in shock. Transferred? How could Estella, given her condition, change schools without his knowledge?

"Aubree," Lucian said softly. The gentle tone filled her heart with joy. "What's the matter?" she asked.

Lucian hesitated, then said, "Please take Essie to her new school." He continued, "Since I've decided to end things with Roxanne, Essie needs a fresh start. Let's begin with the new kindergarten."

Though overjoyed, Aubree expressed concern. "Essie dislikes the new school. Must she go? Perhaps homeschooling would be better?"

Lucian firmly disagreed. "Given Essie's condition, she needs social interaction to adapt to her new environment."

Aubree, unable to argue, nodded. "I'll wake her." She bid Cayden farewell and left.

Cayden hesitated before saying, "Mr. Farwell, are you certain Ms. Pearson should take Ms. Estella? I can, if you provide the address."

"It's fine. Let her," Lucian replied. He added, silently, "Mother's right. Since I'm continuing the engagement, Essie must learn to get along with Aubree." He rose from bed.

Cayden quickly intervened, "Mr. Farwell, rest. You don't look well." He'd never seen his boss so intoxicated.

Lucian entered the bathroom, his reflection showing a pale man with bloodshot eyes. Self-mockery flickered in his gaze. I can't believe I got drunk over a woman.

Cayden persisted, "You have no important meetings today; please rest."

Lucian turned from the mirror. "No need. We'll stick to the schedule. I need to focus on work to forget Roxanne."

Cayden, after several rejections, acquiesced, going downstairs to wait. Emerging from Lucian's room, he saw Aubree by Estella's door. The little girl appeared asleep. Aubree gently knocked, her expression hidden. Cayden felt sorry for Estella, knowing her dislike for Aubree.
