Hearing her mother mention Roxanne, Aubree felt a surge of irritation. "Is she even worth mentioning?"

The two spoke about Lucian for a while before Aubree returned to her room. After Cory's last blackmail attempt, he'd left Aubree a new contact number—one Lucian wouldn't find.

Deep down, Aubree remained hesitant. However, her mother's words left her no choice but to take the risk. She gritted her teeth and dialed the number.
