Chapter 1133
โIn that caseโฆโ Frieda was puzzled. โWhen are we going to use these photos?โ
Aubreeโs eyes narrowed. โIโm still waiting for the right opportunity. In fact, I called you here today to discuss this matter.โ
The right opportunity. Frieda knitted her brows, understanding Aubreeโs implication. She believed the photos alone were insufficient; they needed a scenario that left Roxanne defenseless. However, this proved far more challenging than anticipated. Success would be far more likely if they had amicable relations with Roxanne or Jack, but their strained relationships with Roxanne and unfamiliarity with Jack presented a significant obstacle. Frieda, too, was at a loss.
โHave you managed to come up with any ideas?โ Aubreeโs impatience grew. Friedaโs previous suggestion had improved Aubreeโs relationship with Estella, leading Aubree to believe Frieda might offer helpful ideas. Unfortunately, prolonged silence was her only response.
Frieda looked troubled. โGiven our relationship with them, it would be difficult to avoid leaving a trace. If you insist, we'll have no choice but to create an accident.โ She added, almost as an afterthought, โEspecially one involving Roxanne. Once Jack shows concern, we can make a significant fuss.โ
Aubree immediately rejected this. โIt wasnโt easy to change Lucianโs impression of me. He would definitely cancel our engagement if he discovered my involvement.โ
โI failed to consider that,โ Frieda admitted, a grim expression on her face.
โDo we have no choice but to wait for them to develop feelings with the passage of time?โ Aubree wondered aloud.
Friedaโs eyes lit up. โNot necessarily!โ
Aubree looked baffled.
โWe canโt create an accident, but we can increase the time they spend together. Sooner or later, it wonโt be surprising if they become a couple, will it?โ Frieda explained. In essence, their plan was discreet matchmaking. Even if Lucian discovered their actions, it would be easily explained, making it a low-risk endeavor.
Aubree nodded thoughtfully. โI would have felt so lost without you. Frieda, donโt you worry. After all youโve done for me, I'll definitely make it worth your while once I become Mrs. Farwell.โ
Frieda forced a smile. โThatโs the least I can do for my best friend!โ
With a plan in place, Aubreeโs mind wandered as they continued shopping. As dusk approached, Frieda checked the time. โArenโt you supposed to pick Essie up from school? Youโll be late if you donโt leave now.โ She assumed Aubree had lost track of time.
However, Aubree replied calmly, โWhatโs the hurry? Even if Iโm late, the teacher will wait with her. She wonโt be lost.โ
This response again confused Frieda. They were quite close to Essieโs kindergarten; what was Aubree doing?
Aubree offered no explanation. Only after further shopping did she finally drive, nonchalantly, to the kindergarten.
