Chapter 1157
Aubree was behaving out of line. Fearing Archie and Benny might overhear, Roxanne opened the door to confront her.
โAre you finished, Ms. Pearson? If so, please leave,โ she said.
Aubree, seeing Roxanne outside the mansion, became even more furious. โHow dare you come out! Are you hoping Lucian will come to your rescue?โ she snarled.
Annoyed, Roxanne frowned. โAs Iโve said, Iโm distancing myself from them. I only went to the kindergarten today to check on Essie. If those children hadn't bullied her, I wouldn't have met Mr. Farwell, and no one would have known I was there.โ
She then firmly stated, โFrom now on, as long as Essie is well, I will stay out of your lives.โ
โYouโve got to be kidding me!โ Disdain was etched across Aubreeโs face. โDo you think Iโd believe you? Where are those two? Bring them out! I want to show them their motherโs true colors! They should know how you seduced someone elseโs fiancรฉ!โ
Roxanneโs expression hardened. โAubree Pearson, leave now, or I will call the police!โ
โGo ahead! Iโd like to see if the police will side with me, Lucianโs fiancรฉe, or you, the homewrecker!โ Aubree sneered.
At that moment, Archie and Benny, having finished their discussion, overheard an argument downstairs. It sounded like someone called their mother a homewrecker.
Perplexed, they ran to the balcony and looked down, spotting Aubree at the mansion entrance, verbally assaulting their mother with venom in her eyes.
โListen to meโyouโll never get Lucianโs attention! He didnโt have feelings for you six years ago, and that hasnโt changed! Iโm the only woman worthy of him!โ Aubree raged. โBesides, the Farwell family would never accept your two children!โ
It seemed she felt compelled to remind Roxanne of this.
Hearing Aubree repeatedly use such a derogatory term infuriated Roxanne, who approached her with a frosty expression.
โWhatโs wrong? Are you going to hit me?โ Aubree taunted.
As the words left her lips, a small voice called from above, โWatch out, Mommy!โ
Instantly, cold water cascaded down on Aubree, soaking her completely. She froze, then looked up furiously.
On the balcony, Benny, standing on a stool, made a face. โThereโs no way Mr. Farwell would fall for an evil woman like you!โ
โYou little brat! Get down here! I swear Iโll teach you a lesson!โ Aubree yelled hysterically.
But the boys showed no fear. โThatโs what you get for scolding our mommy, you evil woman!โ
Overwhelmed with rage, Aubree tried to push past Roxanne to go inside. Archie and Bennyโs actions surprised Roxanne, yet she felt inexplicably exhilarated. However, concerned Aubree might harm the boys, she apologized stiffly on their behalf. โMs. Pearson, they didnโt mean to. Theyโre just children, please forgive them.โ
Roxanne glanced at Archie and Benny, signaling them to come inside. Pouring water was enough; further conflict would only hurt them.
But Archie and Benny ignored her. Arms akimbo, they stated matter-of-factly, โWe did it on purpose! Letโs see if you still dare to scold Mommy!โ
