Chapter 1157

Aubree was behaving out of line. Fearing Archie and Benny might overhear, Roxanne opened the door to confront her.

“Are you finished, Ms. Pearson? If so, please leave,” she said.

Aubree, seeing Roxanne outside the mansion, became even more furious. “How dare you come out! Are you hoping Lucian will come to your rescue?” she snarled.

Annoyed, Roxanne frowned. “As I’ve said, I’m distancing myself from them. I only went to the kindergarten today to check on Essie. If those children hadn't bullied her, I wouldn't have met Mr. Farwell, and no one would have known I was there.”

She then firmly stated, “From now on, as long as Essie is well, I will stay out of your lives.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Disdain was etched across Aubree’s face. “Do you think I’d believe you? Where are those two? Bring them out! I want to show them their mother’s true colors! They should know how you seduced someone else’s fiancé!”

Roxanne’s expression hardened. “Aubree Pearson, leave now, or I will call the police!”

“Go ahead! I’d like to see if the police will side with me, Lucian’s fiancée, or you, the homewrecker!” Aubree sneered.

At that moment, Archie and Benny, having finished their discussion, overheard an argument downstairs. It sounded like someone called their mother a homewrecker.

Perplexed, they ran to the balcony and looked down, spotting Aubree at the mansion entrance, verbally assaulting their mother with venom in her eyes.

“Listen to me—you’ll never get Lucian’s attention! He didn’t have feelings for you six years ago, and that hasn’t changed! I’m the only woman worthy of him!” Aubree raged. “Besides, the Farwell family would never accept your two children!”

It seemed she felt compelled to remind Roxanne of this.

Hearing Aubree repeatedly use such a derogatory term infuriated Roxanne, who approached her with a frosty expression.

“What’s wrong? Are you going to hit me?” Aubree taunted.

As the words left her lips, a small voice called from above, “Watch out, Mommy!”

Instantly, cold water cascaded down on Aubree, soaking her completely. She froze, then looked up furiously.

On the balcony, Benny, standing on a stool, made a face. “There’s no way Mr. Farwell would fall for an evil woman like you!”

“You little brat! Get down here! I swear I’ll teach you a lesson!” Aubree yelled hysterically.

But the boys showed no fear. “That’s what you get for scolding our mommy, you evil woman!”

Overwhelmed with rage, Aubree tried to push past Roxanne to go inside. Archie and Benny’s actions surprised Roxanne, yet she felt inexplicably exhilarated. However, concerned Aubree might harm the boys, she apologized stiffly on their behalf. “Ms. Pearson, they didn’t mean to. They’re just children, please forgive them.”

Roxanne glanced at Archie and Benny, signaling them to come inside. Pouring water was enough; further conflict would only hurt them.

But Archie and Benny ignored her. Arms akimbo, they stated matter-of-factly, “We did it on purpose! Let’s see if you still dare to scold Mommy!”
