“Bastards!” Aubree wanted to storm into the house, her fury barely contained.

Roxanne, however, stood firm at the entrance, blocking her way. “Why are you so angry, Ms. Pearson? You were the one who came here and created a scene! Archie and Benny were merely retaliating.”

Aubree stopped abruptly. “It must have been you! You taught them to do this!” she gasped, her voice raw with anger.

She lunged, swinging at Roxanne, who remained alert. Roxanne swiftly jabbed a finger at an acupuncture point on Aubree’s arm, instantly weakening it. Before Aubree could react, Roxanne delivered a sharp slap. The impact stunned Aubree, leaving her momentarily dazed.

When she recovered, she stared at Roxanne in disbelief. “You! How dare you hit me?”

“I merely returned the favor,” Roxanne replied icily, then shoved Aubree aside. Off balance, Aubree stumbled backward, nearly falling down the stairs.

“This is between us adults. Why involve my children, Ms. Pearson? That’s disgraceful,” Roxanne said expressionlessly. “Consider that slap a warning. Lay a finger on Archie and Benny again, and you will regret it.”

Aubree lunged again. Roxanne countered, kicking an acupuncture point in Aubree’s knee. Aubree staggered back, wincing in pain.

“You’re no match for me,” Roxanne stated calmly. “Don’t underestimate my expertise, Ms. Pearson.” As a renowned traditional medicine practitioner, she possessed intimate knowledge of acupuncture, capable of both healing and defense.

Aubree, twice thwarted, seethed but hesitated to act rashly.

“Why haven’t you left?” Roxanne snapped.

Aubree flinched at the sharp tone, then blushed crimson with embarrassment. Trying to appear defiant, she yelled, “Just you wait!” She gritted her teeth and stormed off.

However, instead of driving away, she lingered, watching the mansion. Roxanne had returned inside. Archie and Benny, still on the balcony, smirked at her. Their smugness fueled Aubree’s rage. Those bastards! she thought. They’ll regret this.

She remained for a long time before finally speeding away.

Inside, Roxanne suppressed her anger and prepared dinner. Calling for Archie and Benny, she found them already waiting at the landing. They had enjoyed their revenge but worried about Roxanne’s reaction, anticipating a reprimand.
