Chapter 1176

When Lucian received no response, his fury erupted. โ€œHave you all gone deaf? Iโ€™m asking where she is!โ€

The lead specialist, biting the bullet, explained, โ€œDr. Jarvisโ€™ condition has stabilized, but sheโ€™s still in a coma. The toxicity damaged her cranial nerves. Weโ€™re unsure when sheโ€™ll regain consciousness.โ€

Before the specialist finished, a large hand seized his collar, forcing him two steps forward. He could only plead, โ€œMr. Farwellโ€ฆ please calm downโ€ฆ Ms. Jarvis has been moved to the ward. If youโ€™re worried, you can see her.โ€

Lucian, eyes blazing, pulled the man closer. โ€œI didnโ€™t come here for excuses! I demand a full recovery! Otherwise, whatโ€™s the point of you all?โ€

Trepidation etched itself on the specialist's face. โ€œMs. Jarvis was admitted too late. Had she arrived immediately after collapsing, we could have cured her. The golden hour has passed.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t want to hear it!โ€ Lucianโ€™s voice was frigid.

The specialist's heart lurched. โ€œWeโ€™ll do everything possible to wake Ms. Jarvis as quickly as we can!โ€ He added cautiously, โ€œBut until then, we believe sheโ€™s aware of her surroundings. Perhaps talking to her might help.โ€

Lucianโ€™s hands clenched, then, regaining composure, he released the specialist, who breathed a sigh of relief.

โ€œWhere is she? Iโ€™ll go see her,โ€ Lucian demanded. โ€œI need to see her.โ€

The specialists immediately directed him to Roxanneโ€™s ward. They were met by Zayne in the elevator.

โ€œMr. Farwell, Iโ€™ve arranged the best ward for Ms. Jarvis. Iโ€™ll take you there.โ€ Zayne pressed the elevator button, waiting until Lucian entered before following.

They arrived at a VIP ward. Lucian entered, the specialists and Zayne waiting outside. Through the wardโ€™s inner door window, he saw Roxanne unconscious in bed. A sharp pain pierced his heart.

She was in a white and blue striped gown, her soft hair tucked behind her ears. From a distance, she appeared merely asleep. Lucian watched for a long time, suppressing his emotions before carefully entering the room.

He stopped at the bedside, gazing down at her. His suppressed emotions surged again. Her face was pale, the veins on her IV hand clearly visible. Seeing her like this, he realized the horrifying truthโ€”she was truly ill, not just asleep.
