Chapter 1178
โWhat about traditional medicine?โ Lucian asked abruptly. โCan it awaken her?โ
The specialists exchanged glances. โWe considered it, but the efficacy would likely be negligible. Furthermore, you and Ms. Jarvis would face risks, given the toxins have infiltrated her cranial nerves.โ
With Roxanneโs condition so advanced, regaining consciousness was paramount before proceeding with further treatment. Even the best traditional practitioner might fail, especially considering the toxin damage to her cranial nerves. They wouldn't risk performing cranial acupuncture. Lucian, needless to say, wouldn't risk Roxanne's life either; he was, frankly, reluctant to use traditional methods. The best practitioner in the country was Jack, and unless Roxanne's life was in immediate danger, Lucian would never allow them to interact. He resolutely dismissed the suggestion. He glared at the specialists, his threat unmistakable.
โNo matter the method, she must wake up. Fail, and you'll never work in this field again!โ
He always kept his word. The specialists hastily murmured their agreement, inwardly lamenting their predicament. It wasn't that they didn't want to cure her; she had inhaled excessive poisonous gas and hadn't received timely treatment. However, faced with his threat, they had no choice but to strive for a solution.
As they grappled for a solution, a series of knocks sounded on the door. It was the operating room nurse, Roxanneโs caretaker.
โIโm not sure what happened, but her brain waves are fluctuating!โ She was still slightly breathless from her hurried arrival.
Her exclamation shocked everyone. During treatment, Roxanneโs brain waves had remained static. No matter what they did, there had been no fluctuation. Yet, now there was. They suspected it was related to Lucian's presence in the hospital room.
โMr. Farwell, what did you do?โ someone asked, surprised.
Lucian pondered his time in the room. โIโฆ merely spoke to her.โ He couldn't think of anything else. Or was Roxanne so determined to avoid him that she reacted even while unconscious?
The specialists exchanged glances. After a moment, one admitted, โIf someone important to her spoke to her, it might awaken her.โ
Zayne tentatively suggested, โMr. Farwell, perhaps you should try again?โ
Lucian was skeptical. โWill it really work?โ
โTry it. We can monitor Ms. Jarvisโ brain waves. Any fluctuation proves its efficacy,โ a specialist replied.
Lucian hesitated. Someone important to herโฆ was he? She wanted nothing to do with him. Then, the specialist's reminder solidified his resolve.
โTime is running out, Mr. Farwell. The longer she remains unconscious, the lower the chance of waking her.โ
