Chapter 1181
In the face of Lucian's accusation, everyone hastily explained, "It's effective! Ms. Jarvis's brainwaves fluctuated greatly while you were inside."
Lucian's expression was grim. "If so, why is she still not awake?"
The specialists exchanged glances. "Because the stimulation is insufficient. You mentioned something she cares about; we believe she's close to regaining consciousness."
Lucian's expression grew colder. It was clear they needed to offer a solution quickly.
"We propose having Ms. Jarvis's two children come and talk to her. Perhaps that will wake her." The specialist, remembering Lucian's earlier objection, spoke cautiously.
A frown creased Lucian's brow; aggravation filled his eyes. She wouldn't want the children to see her like this, to worry them. Yet, it seemed the only option.
"I understand your concern, Mr. Farwell," the specialist said. "But if Ms. Jarvis remains unconscious, the children will learn eventually. The later they find out, the more frightened they'll be."
The specialist insisted, and Lucian, after a moment, relented. "Got it."
The specialists were about to continue when Lucian abruptly turned and re-entered the hospital room. They exchanged confused glances. His only comment before returning had been "Got it." What did that mean? Would he bring the children or not?
In the hospital room, Lucian stood beside Roxanne and said solemnly, "The doctor suggested I bring Archie and Benny to talk to you. You probably wouldn't want them to know about this, right?" He stared at her, his gaze somber. Seeing she remained unresponsive, he took out his phone and called Cayden.
It was late. Cayden, having just finished bathing, was kept awake by guilt. Seeing his employer's name, he quickly answered. "What do you need, Mr. Farwell?"
"Go to Roxanne's house and bring the two children here," Lucian said wearily.
Cayden was stunned. "Has Ms. Jarvis regained consciousness, Mr. Farwell?" It was the only explanation he could imagine.
Lucian remained silent. Cayden quickly understood: Roxanne was still unconscious. Why bring the children then? Seeing their mother like this would undoubtedly upset them. His suppressed guilt surged again. Lucian's mood was clearly foul.
Without further questions, Cayden murmured his agreement and went to Roxanne's house.
Archie and Benny were still awake, waiting for their mother's return. It was nearing 9:30, and she was still not home. Her phone was off. Fear gnawed at them.
"Could something have happened to Mommy, Archie?" Benny asked nervously, clutching his brother's hand.
Archie bit his lip, his heart heavy.
