Chapter 1202

โ€œHelp me kill that woman!โ€ Aubreeโ€™s gaze locked on Coryโ€™s. โ€œI canโ€™t wait any longer! Roxanne must die!โ€

Cory stared incredulously. โ€œHave you gone mad?โ€

Cory was a private investigator skilled in surveillance and investigation. Most private investigators were cautious, even timid. While Cory was an exception, preferring challenging assignments like stalking Roxanne despite the risk of Lucian discovering him, he lacked the stomach for murder. Killing someone in front of Lucian was not impossible, but Cory knew the likelihood of getting caught was extremely high.

โ€œHelp me kill her. Iโ€™ll give you anything you want!โ€ Aubreeโ€™s eyes blazed with a frantic energy. โ€œShe must die!โ€

Cory frowned, wanting to escape. He feared Aubree would say something even more outlandish. Before he could flee, she seized his wrist. โ€œDonโ€™t run!โ€ she hissed. โ€œWeโ€™re in this together, remember? You helped me poison those men! If Lucian finds out, do you think heโ€™ll let you live?โ€

Cory froze, shooting her a frigid look. โ€œAre you threatening me?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m stating a fact! If Roxanne marries Lucian, will we escape punishment? The only way out is for me to take her place! In other words, Roxanne must die!โ€ Aubree sneered.

Silence filled the restroom. Cory stared at her, a surge of homicidal intent washing over him.

โ€œHelp me,โ€ Aubree purred. โ€œIโ€™ll pay you handsomely. Afterwards, Iโ€™ll send you abroad. Lucian wonโ€™t even look for you. And if he does, he wonโ€™t find anything incriminating!โ€

Cory gritted his teeth, weighing his options. Finally, he ground out, โ€œI canโ€™t do it. Find a professional.โ€

โ€œI know you can do it! I only trust you!โ€ Aubree vehemently rejected his suggestion.

Aubree, Cory, and Frieda were all in a desperate situation. Their survival hinged on Aubree becoming Lucian's wife. Aubree understood this shared interest.

Cory was at his witโ€™s end. The crazed look in Aubreeโ€™s eyes prevented him from outright refusing. He stalled, saying, โ€œIโ€™ll think about it. Iโ€™ll get back to you.โ€

Aubree eyed him suspiciously for a few seconds before reluctantly releasing him.

As they left the restroom, Aubreeโ€™s phone rang. The call seemed to calm her somewhat; Coryโ€™s consideration evidently eased her anxiety. She answered, frowning as she saw it was Frieda. Why was she calling at this hour?

Friedaโ€™s voice cut through the line, โ€œAubree, where are you? Somethingโ€™s happened to Roxanne! Lucianโ€™s with her!โ€
