Chapter 1207

Lucian couldn't hear Jonathan's words, but he observed the rapid shift in the children's expressions. Jonathan quickly persuaded them to leave with him.

โ€œIโ€™ll take the kids out for a meal and bring them back shortly. You should keep Dr. Jarvis company!โ€ Jonathan said, the three children standing beside him.

Lucian nodded. โ€œThanks a lot.โ€

Jonathan chuckled and led the children into the elevator. A hint of doubt lingered in Lucianโ€™s eyes as the elevator doors closed, but he decided to trust Jonathan with the children.

After a moment, Lucian entered the ward. Unbeknownst to him, Roxanne, hearing his footsteps, quickly closed her eyes, feigning sleep.

โ€œIโ€™ve been doing a lot of thinking. I canโ€™t force you to accept me after this, but Archie and Benny need a father,โ€ Lucian said, his voice deep.

Roxanne tensed, apprehensive about his next words.

โ€œIf you wonโ€™t let me be their father, I can help you find their biological father. At the very least, Iโ€™ll ensure he fulfills his responsibilities,โ€ Lucian continued.

Roxanneโ€™s eyes snapped open. She panicked; if Lucian investigated, their true identities would be revealed. She couldn't lose them.

She started to speak but was interrupted by a sudden, splitting headache.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Lucian asked, noticing her pain.

Roxanne clutched her head. She knew she'd become emotional before fully recovering, triggering the headache, but couldn't explain it.

Lucian placed a hand on her shoulder, bringing her some comfort. Roxanne instinctively grabbed his hand, squeezing tightly, as if transferring her pain.

Seeing her suffering pained Lucian deeply. He sat beside her bed, hugging her with one arm while using the other to call Zayne.

The call connected quickly.

โ€œHave the specialists come immediately!โ€ Lucian ordered, his voice cold, despite the pain in his hand.

Zayne, even over the phone, was terrified by his tone and immediately complied.

Lucian hung up and whispered, โ€œIโ€™ve summoned the doctors. They should be here soon, so hang in there. Donโ€™t fall asleep, do you hear me?โ€

Roxanne tightened her grip, nuzzling against his chest, the pain intense.

โ€œI wonโ€™t investigate them if you donโ€™t want me to. I just want you to be alright!โ€ Lucian muttered, his teeth clenched.

Burying her face in his chest, Roxanne felt the headache lessen slightly, but the pain was still overwhelming.

The ward door opened, and hurried footsteps approached. Lucian released her shoulder, preparing to leave.
