Chapter 1247
Jonathan sent Frieda and Aubree to the hospital, completed the admission procedures, and arranged for their care before leaving. He feared losing his temper if he remained with Frieda. Before departing, he instructed his subordinates, "Keep a close watch on her. Contact me immediately if you notice anything unusual." They readily agreed.
Jonathan paused, glancing back at the ward before sighing heavily and leaving the hospital. In his car, he considered visiting Roxanne. Given Aubree's and his sister's injuries, he suspected a fight. He worried about Roxanne's well-being.
After some deliberation, he called Lucian instead. Lucian was the right person to be with Roxanne if she were injured.
The call connected instantly. "What's up?"
Jonathan hesitated. He couldn't tell Lucian that his sister and Aubree had fought with Roxanne after provoking her, fearing repercussions for Frieda. Though he considered Frieda foolish, she was family, and he felt compelled to protect her.
After a moment's pause, he said, "Aubree and my sister saw Dr. Jarvis today, but I don't know what transpired. Would you like to check on her?" He omitted mention of the altercation.
Lucian's expression immediately darkened. "Why did they go there?"
Jonathan shook his head, unable to reveal the truth. "I don't know. They're slightly injured, and I'm unsure of Dr. Jarvis's condition."
Lucian's expression grew grimmer. He suspected a fight.
"Lucian, please check on her. I'm sure Dr. Jarvis would appreciate it," Jonathan urged.
"Got it," Lucian replied, hanging up.
Around noon, Cayden approached Lucian's office to inquire about lunch. "Mr. Farwell, what would youโ" He was met with a grim atmosphere.
"Postpone everything on my schedule," Lucian commanded coldly.
Cayden, noting the lack of pressing engagements, complied. Before he could ask for an explanation, Lucian grabbed his coat and left, his expression stern.
A realization dawned on Cayden. Only Roxanne could elicit such a reaction from Lucian. He wondered what had happened.
Lucian sped towards Roxanne's home. Having nearly lost her, he wouldn't let her leave him again. If Aubree's actions drove Roxanne away, he wouldn't show her any mercy, regardless of his mother's opinion.
