Chapter 1307

When their appeal was rejected, the Pearsons were filled with despair. Sonya glared at them. โ€œHow dare you lie to me all these years? And now you still have the audacity to beg for my forgiveness?โ€

The three hung their heads, silent. After a brief, deathly silence, Sonya turned to leave. โ€œYou better pray hard!โ€

A long while later, Samuel finally stood. A pained expression crossed his face as he looked at his kneeling daughter. โ€œYou should leave the country.โ€

Aubreeโ€™s head snapped up. โ€œThatโ€™s the only way out,โ€ Samuel sighed. โ€œLeaving will save you; otherwise, weโ€™ll lose both you and our wealth.โ€

Hesitation filled Aubreeโ€™s eyes. Leave the countryโ€ฆ Would Lucian release me? More importantly, would he even give me the chance? Her concerns mounted; she couldnโ€™t agree.

It was already 1:30. The three left home on time. Given Lucianโ€™s outrage over Aubreeโ€™s actions, being late would only worsen their situation.

Meanwhile, Roxanne was unaware of the events between the Pearson and Farwell families. Sheโ€™d caught a cold the previous day. Archie and Benny had stayed home from kindergarten to care for her. The children, ever concerned, ensured she took her medication and drank enough water. Despite only a slight fever, they forbade her from getting out of bed.

Lucian and Estella visited that morning, leaving only after confirming her illness wasn't serious. As Roxanne prepared for a nap so the boys could rest, her phone rang. Seeing Lucianโ€™s name, she answered, expecting a simple check-in.

โ€œDo you feel better now?โ€ Lucianโ€™s concerned voice filled her ears, warming her heart.

โ€œItโ€™s just a minor fever. I feel fine. Youโ€™re all overreacting,โ€ Roxanne replied.

For her sake, the three children had missed school, and Lucian had nearly dropped everything at the office. Ultimately, Roxanne convinced him it wasn't necessary.

Lucianโ€™s voice was solemn. โ€œCome to the manor if you can. Iโ€™ll send Cayden to pick you up.โ€

Roxanne was stunned, sensing the gravity of the situation. โ€œWhat happened?โ€ She assumed he wouldn't want her out unless it was serious, given her illness.

Lucian frowned, unsure how to tell her. โ€œItโ€™s better to discuss it in person. Cayden should arrive soon.โ€

Without further questions, Roxanne agreed. โ€œIโ€™ll get ready.โ€

โ€œBring Archie and Benny,โ€ Lucian added.

Even Roxanneโ€™s bewilderment couldn't mask the seriousness in Lucianโ€™s tone. โ€œAll right.โ€

Just as she hung up, the boys entered with a glass of water. After drinking, Roxanne said, โ€œMr. Farwell wants us to go to his place. Get ready; Mr. Lawson will be here soon.โ€
