“Because…” Archie and Benny couldn’t ignore their sister’s pleading look. Benny finally offered an explanation. “Maybe Mommy wants to test Mr. Farwell further! After all, they didn’t seem happy when they separated.”

Estella furrowed her brow, perplexed. “I don’t know about Daddy and Mommy’s matters as much as they do, but I think that’s the case based on what Daddy said when he proposed. What happened when they initially separated? Why did Mommy abandon me?”

Seeing his answer wipe the smile from his sister’s face and ruin his mother’s mood, Benny panicked. “It’s going to be fine! As long as Mr. Farwell performs well, Mommy will forgive him and accept his proposal!”

Estella remained worried. “But what if Daddy feels hopeless after Mommy rejects him this time? What do we do then?”

“I helped Daddy pursue Mommy, so I know he’ll overthink things,” Estella continued. “He’d get angry and stop pursuing Mommy over a tiny issue. The more I think about his jealousy, the more concerned I am. Before, I could advise him, but now he has no one! If I’d known this would happen, I would have stayed by his side.”

Her words further unsettled Benny. “I don’t think so. Daddy’s probably not that fragile!” He glanced at his watch. “I still haven’t received any news. Did Daddy really give up? But he did teach that woman a lesson this morning!”

“Why not?” Archie echoed Benny’s bewilderment. “Mr. Farwell’s personality is much like yours—very emotional. Who knows what he’s thinking right now?”

This shifted Benny’s attention. “There’s no way I’m similar to Mr. Farwell! I’m cute and lively! You’re the one who resembles Mr. Farwell! You’re always so expressionless! I resemble Mommy most!”

Estella, drawn into the conversation, piped up innocently, “I should be the one who resembles Mommy most! Mommy’s a girl, and I’m a girl too! Besides, Mommy is really pretty, so when I grow up, I’ll be as pretty as her!”

Her participation stunned her brothers.

“I don’t care! I don’t want to resemble Mr. Farwell!” Benny pouted and stormed off.

“Am I really that similar to Daddy? Okay, maybe we look a little alike. We’re both handsome. However, our personalities are completely different! Daddy’s not talkative and he’s always expressionless, unlike me—lively, cute, smart, and sharp-tongued! Everyone loves me.”

“Don’t you like Mr. Farwell most—” Archie began to tease, but saw Benny walking toward the sea. “Come back, Benny!” he yelled, chasing after him.

Lost in thought, Benny didn’t hear Archie and continued walking, the sound of the waves drowning out his brother’s calls.
