Chapter 1347

Roxanne sprawled on the backseat and peered into the trunk. A beautiful black box sat in the middleโ€”her old underwear brand. Available only locally, she hadn't been able to buy it overseas. Since returning, she hadn't had time to shop. The thought of Lucian buying it, his expression impassive, amused her.

Relief washed over her upon seeing the box. Thankfully, he hadn't placed it in the backseat where the boys might see it. She shuddered at the thought of explaining that.

Hesitantly, she retrieved the box. Despite her shyness, she had to wear the lingerie; Lucian had paid, and she didn't want to ruin her new dress. Trying on the bra, her cheeks flushed crimson. Hooking it proved a struggle; even then, it felt too tight. She never imagined Lucian would buy the same brand and size she'd worn six years ago. Her postpartum figure had changed, making her old size barely manageable.

Quickly, she donned the dress, folding her and the children's discarded clothes. Once her embarrassment subsided, she exited the car.

"Mommy, you're so pretty!"

The children, splashing under Lucian's supervision, eyes lit up at her appearance. Her pale skin was beautifully complemented by the ocean-blue dress, making her radiant. Her long hair cascaded down her back, swaying gently in the breeze. The dress hugged her curves, enhancing her gentle smile. Lucian's gaze darkened as he watched her silently.

"Mr. Farwell!" Benny, aiming to mend his earlier blunder, interjected. "You picked a suitable dress for Mommy!"

Lucian's half-smile acknowledged Benny, his eyes still fixed on Roxanne. Benny's words reignited Roxanne's suppressed embarrassment. Feeling Lucian's gaze, she blinked, averting her eyes shyly. "Thank you. It must be expensive. I'll transfer the money later," she murmured.

Instead of answering, Lucian asked, "Do you like it?"

Roxanne sighed. "It's been a while since I wore a dress." She brushed her hair, ruffled by the breeze, and turned towards the sea. The moment felt like stepping back in time, six years; but now, Lucian and the children were with her.
