Roxanne knew nothing of the kindergarten incident. After leaving, she went directly to the rural research institute established by her professor. Upon entering, she saw a charming man in a suit approaching.

“Welcome back, Roxanne. I’m excited to be your colleague again,” Colby Galloway said, extending his hand.

Roxanne, however, didn't notice his gaze. After a brief scan of the office, she said, “I’m here to understand the institute’s operations. Could you give me a tour?”

“Okay,” Colby replied, still smiling.

Roxanne nodded and gestured for him to proceed. When he resumed his position in front of her, his smile faltered; his fondness was clearly unrequited. He found her view of him as merely a subordinate frustrating.

They left the office and headed to the main research area, arriving at the testing area, where researchers in lab coats and masks worked diligently. Roxanne, not wanting to disturb them, asked Colby to briefly explain the projects and their progress.
