Chapter 1404

Upon hearing Benny's words, Roxanne felt embarrassed, her composure momentarily shattered. Lucian's deep voice, tinged with amusement, echoed in her ear. "Take a look. Do you like it? I wasn't sure what to buy, and the sales attendant suggested another design. However, I think this one suits you better."

Roxanne seized the opportunity to avoid his gaze, turning to check her reflection in the rearview mirror. A platinum necklace encircled her neck, a minimalistic round pendant of crushed diamonds nestled between her collarbones, making them sparkle. The sight captivated her.

Lucian, having silently approached, asked anxiously, "Do you like it?"

Regaining her composure, Roxanne turned and smiled. "It's beautiful. I love it, Mr. Farโ€”" She almost used the formal address out of habit, but their ambiguous relationship stayed her. "Thank you. I appreciate it very much."

Lucian's gaze darkened, though he remained silent, noticing her near slip. Meanwhile, the children surrounded Roxanne, their gasps of awe filling the air.

"Mommy, you're gorgeous!"

"The necklace really suits you! It looks even more beautiful on you!"

"Mr. Farwell has a sharp eye indeed!"

Their effusive praise brought a blush to Roxanne's cheeks. Trying to hide her emotions, she smiled down at them. "You haven't opened your presents yet, have you? Let's go inside."

Elated by the mention of gifts, the children followed her into the mansion. Jubilant cheers punctuated the quiet as they settled on the sofa to open their presents. Roxanne beamed with satisfaction at their happiness. A warm, familial atmosphere filled the living room.

Watching Roxanne interact joyfully with the children, wearing the necklace he'd given her, Lucian couldn't help but imagine it as a proposal ring on her finger. How long does she want me to wait...?

Lost in thought, he was startled by the children's voices.

"Daddy, look! I'm wearing the same outfit as Archie and Benny!" Estella exclaimed excitedly.

Lucian looked down to see all three children in matching T-shirts and shorts Roxanne had chosenโ€”vibrant colors designed to suit both boys and girls. Dressed alike, they looked up at him, and for a fleeting moment, he felt they resembled one another. The feeling vanished as their attention shifted.

"Daddy, help us take a picture!"

Only Estella maintained her gaze, tugging at his sleeve. "I want to take a picture!"

Lucian rarely took pictures of Estella; most of her photos were taken by Sonya during visits. However, since spending time with Roxanne, Estella had adopted her habit of commemorating moments with photographs.

It was a simple request, and Lucian readily complied. He produced his phone and fulfilled his role as cameraman.
