Chapter 1433

Roxanne was touched by Benny's sincere words, and her resolve began to waver. Lucian had laid the groundwork. If Roxanne revealed Archie and Benny's true identities, they could let things fall into place and be together, providing the three children with a complete, happy family.

"Mommy, what are you guys talking about?"

Estella, having been overlooked, approached them with unhappiness. Roxanne's thoughts snapped back to the present. She pulled Estella into a hug, asking, "Essie, do you want Daddy and me to live together?" The implication was clear: she was ready to accept Lucian's proposal.

The children's eyes immediately lit up. Archie and Benny turned to Estella, who nodded firmly. "Yes! I want Daddy and you to be together!" she declared in her childish voice.

Roxanne's expression softened. "Thenโ€”"

Before she could suggest they live together, the mansion's doorbell rang. She suspected it was Lucian, perhaps arriving to claim credit for his earlier actions. The thought spurred her to her feet. If it was him, she would confess the boys' identities and accept his proposal.

However, a wave of nervousness washed over her as she opened the door. But the moment she saw the visitor, her face hardened. Exasperation replaced her hopeful anticipation.

Before Roxanne could react, Sonya spoke contemptuously, "It's late. Are you not going to invite me inside, Ms. Jarvis?"

Recovering, Roxanne frowned, remaining silent for a moment before stepping aside. Sonya entered unceremoniously. Seeing the three children, she gave Archie and Benny a disdainful look, then extended her arms to Estella.

"Essie, come to Grandma."

Estella silently retreated, hiding behind Archie and Benny. The boys felt dejected by Sonya's obvious disdain, despite Lucian's acknowledgment of them as his sons.

Upon witnessing Sonya's attitude, Roxanne's face grew grim. "Mrs. Farwell, please just talk to me if there's a problem." She then instructed the children, "Archie, Benny, take Essie upstairs."

They started to obey, but Sonya's voice stopped them. "Stop."

Glancing coldly at Roxanne, Sonya declared, "I have nothing to say to you. I'm here to take my granddaughter home. Come here, Essie. I came all this way at this hour to fetch you. Don't make me sad!"

Estella hesitated, glancing between Roxanne and the scowling Sonya. Then, she silently moved to Roxanne's side, clutching her shirt. Roxanne, holding Estella's hand, instantly regretted letting Sonya inside.
