Chapter 1482

โ€œBitch!โ€ Aubree shrieked, a crazed look on her face as she scrolled through online comments. โ€œBastards! I will never let you get away with this!โ€

Sheโ€™d been wrong about the man. Heโ€™d claimed to know her, leading her to believe he had nothing to do with Roxanne. But who else, she mused, would orchestrate such a cruel act? Who else would profit from her humiliation? It had to be Roxanne, enacting her revenge.

Aubree seethed, a burning hatred hardening her gaze. She grabbed her handbag, intent only on revenge, and stormed towards the door.

Her father, Samuel, blocked her exit. His venomous glare burned into her. โ€œHave you no shame? Going out now? Do you think this isn't embarrassing enough?โ€

With each step closer he took, Aubree flinched, retreating until her back hit the wall, traumatized by past beatings.

โ€œWhatโ€™s with this photo?โ€ Samuel demanded, his voice stern. โ€œWhich man did youโ€ฆ defile yourself with? Tell him to get here instantly! I want him to take responsibility!โ€

Aubreeโ€™s exasperation erupted in laughter. โ€œWho do you think took the photo? Do you think heโ€™ll take responsibility after posting it online? He wants me scorned! He wants everyone to think Iโ€™m promiscuous, unmarriageable!โ€

Samuelโ€™s eyes blazed, bloodshot with rage at the undisguised sarcasm in Aubreeโ€™s voice. He slapped her, sending her sprawling. โ€œYou wretch! Canโ€™t you behave for even one day?โ€

Aubree cradled her throbbing cheek. โ€œIโ€™ve been framed! Itโ€™s all Roxanneโ€™s fault! That bitch plotted against me! Why donโ€™t you punish her instead?โ€

Another slap landed on her other cheek. โ€œShut up! How many times must I tell you not to provoke Roxanne? Why wonโ€™t you listen?โ€

Aubree trembled, her anger escalating. โ€œI didnโ€™t provoke her! She provoked me! Donโ€™t you see everyone online is scolding your daughter? Are you blind?โ€

Samuel raised his hand to strike again, but seeing the prints on her swollen cheeks, he clenched his fist, lowering his arm. Disappointment warred in his eyes.

โ€œThe Pearson family is in this mess because of you! Yet you still blame Roxanne! You should be focused on getting Lucianโ€™s forgiveness so we can regain our standing!โ€

Aubreeโ€™s stubbornness was etched on her face. โ€œLucian blames us because of that bitch! As long as sheโ€™s gone, everything will be fine!โ€

Samuel, near apoplectic, leaned against the bed for support, gasping for breath. After several minutes, he straightened, pointing to the door. โ€œOut! Get lost! From today, you have nothing to do with the Pearson family!โ€

Aubree, rising to her feet, glared at him. โ€œI will make that bitch pay! I promise!โ€

She strode out, slamming the door.

Samuel watched her go, his eyes darkening. He staggered, then steadied himself, letting out a heavy sigh. Exhaustion and bitterness etched his face. He'd worked so hard for the Pearson familyโ€™s redemption, clinging to hope for brighter days. Now, everything was ruined.
