Chapter 1483
Outside the mansion, Aubree entered her car and dialed Friedaโs number. Frieda had already seen the news online; with the story trending, it wasnโt surprising sheโd encountered the discussion. Ever since seeing the photo, Frieda had felt uneasy. Sheโd been drinking with Aubree the previous night, and Aubree had been taken away right before her eyes. "I didn't expect that man to pull a stunt like this! If Aubree finds out, she'll never forgive me!"
Just then, Aubree called. Friedaโs heart leaped. Staring at the ringing phone, she hesitated, only breathing again after the call ended. Before she could recover, Aubree called again. Frieda answered, unable to mask the guilt in her voice. "Aubree..."
"What the hell happened last night?" Aubreeโs voice was sharp with frustration.
Terrified, Frieda evaded the truth. "Don't you remember? You left with a guy."
Aubree was furious. "If I remember, why am I asking you? Who is that man?"
Relieved that Aubree had no memory of the events, Frieda sighed. "I don't know. We both drank too much. I went to the restroom; when I returned, you were leaving with a man. I called out, but you didn't stop. I tried to chase you, but the bar was crowded, and I lost you." She apologized immediately. "I'm so sorry, Aubree. I shouldn't have taken you out drinking. It's all my fault."
If Aubree knew Frieda had watched her being taken, she'd likely be furious. Frieda dared not reveal the truth.
Aubree huffed. "I'm heading to the bar now. You're coming with me. We have to find that guy!"
"Now?" Friedaโs heart pounded. She was reluctant.
"This is Roxanne's trap! Once I find that guy, I'll expose her to the world!" Aubree gritted her teeth, a murderous glint in her eyes. Roxanne had cost her everything, and she intended retribution.
Frieda hesitated, even more reluctant to participate in Aubree's plan against Roxanne. But Aubree gave her no choice. "I'll be waiting at the bar entrance. If you don't show up, you'll suffer the same fate!"
Aubree hung up. Frustrated, Frieda went to the bar. Aubree was already waiting, two swollen handprints visible on her cheeks.
Frieda shuddered. Aubree roared, "What are you looking at? It's all that bitch's fault!"
Frieda quickly averted her gaze, changing the subject. "Let's go inside. I've contacted the manager."
Aubree snorted and followed, a hostile aura surrounding her. "Those two won't get away with this!"
