Chapter 1486
Benny opened the door, and Lucian immediately saw three children waiting eagerly.
โDaddy!โ
โMr. Farwell!โ
Their aggrieved tones and hopeful gazes suggested he was their savior. Lucian couldn't resist ruffling their hair, charmed by their adorable pouts. Then, surveying the living room, he asked, "Where's your mommy?" It was the weekend; she should be home.
"Mommy's working overtime," Benny whined. "She's been working late for days. We've been home alone, and it's so boring!" Archie and Estella nodded in agreement.
Lucian's brows furrowed. This explained her exhaustion on his recent calls. He'd planned to treat them, assuming she was simply tired from caring for them. It turned out she'd been working.
Seeing their despondency, he suggested, "Why don't I take you guys out to play? Where would you like to go?"
The trio instantly brightened, chattering excitedly about their preferences.
"I want to watch a movie!" Estella exclaimed. "There's a new fairy tale movie, and I really want to see it! But Mommy's been so busy."
"We want to go to the amusement park!" Archie and Benny chorused, their recent boredom evident. After Estella's suggestion, however, they compromised: "All right, then. Let's go see a movie."
Grinning, Lucian gently pinched their cheeks. "We'll do both. Amusement park first, then a movie on the way back."
"Really?" Benny exclaimed, his joy palpable.
Lucian nodded. "We'll probably only get tonight's movie tickets if we buy them now anyway."
Archie's initial excitement faltered. Hesitantly, he asked, "If we go out, what about Mommy?"
"I'll let her know," Lucian reassured him, smiling. "And, if possible, I hope she'll join us."
He immediately called Roxanne, but received no answer, even after several attempts. He frowned. Noting the children's cautious anticipation, he said softly, "In that case, I'll take you three out today. We can take your mommy next time."
Archie, Benny, and Estella nodded. "Okay!"
Lucian then texted Roxanne, informing her of their outing and asking her to call when free. He then led the children to his car.
Just before starting the car, Lucian glanced at the children in the backseat. "Archie, Benny, you have to call me 'Daddy' when we're out, okay?" His public statement about their relationship meant he was worried about any misunderstandings if they continued to call him "Mr. Farwell."
Benny's eyes shone with delight. "Sure! I'll remember that."
Archie, a faint smile playing on his lips, nodded obediently. "Got it."
