Chapter 1502

โ€œOverseas?โ€ Aubree hissed. โ€œIf I leave, won't Roxanne get what she wants? How can I do that before I have my revenge?โ€

Sensing Aubree's venomous aura, the anxious Frieda urged, โ€œIf you don't go, and end up captured by the police or the Farwell family, your situation will worsen. Then, vengeance will be impossible!โ€

Frieda dared not antagonize Aubree further. Fearing Aubree's descent into madness, Frieda desperately tried to calm her. After all, Aubree's escape benefited Frieda as well.

Frieda suggested, โ€œIf you're worried about money, I can provide it. Though not a large sum, I can spare ten to twenty million now that I've rejoined the Queen family.โ€

Panic gripped Aubree at the prospect of her fate. Yet, she was loath to let Roxanne escape so easily.

Gritting her teeth, she retorted, โ€œThere must be another way!โ€

Meanwhile, at the Farwell residence, Lucian looked displeased in his study.

โ€œLet it go, Lucian,โ€ Roxanne soothed, despite her anxiety over Aubree's refusal to meet. โ€œThe police will handle it. Eat something first.โ€

Catalina had served the food some time ago; it would soon be cold.

Lucian, however, furrowed his brow, murderous intent simmering. If Aubree dares to cause more troubleโ€ฆ

Though unaware of his thoughts, Roxanne sensed the tension. She rose, took his arm, and led him to the couch, bringing his food.

Staring at Roxanne, Lucian momentarily shed his frustration, basking in her attention.

As they dined quietly, a knock sounded.

Catalina announced, โ€œMr. and Mrs. Farwell are here.โ€

Roxanne paused, looking at Lucian. Hesitantly, she said, โ€œYou should go. I'll wait here.โ€ She had no desire to see Sonya unless absolutely necessary.

Lucian calmly finished his meal before rising. In a deep voice, he replied, โ€œWe'll go together. She'll have to accept you and the children eventually.โ€

Giving her no choice, he took her wrist and led her from the study. Roxanne, finding no reason to object, acquiesced.

Descending the stairs, they found Sonya and Elias seated on the couch. Sonya was visibly furious, her chest heaving. Elias, equally grave, attempted to calm her.

Sonya, further enraged by Roxanne's presence, sprang to her feet.

โ€œWhy are you two together at this hour?โ€

Elias nodded a greeting to Roxanne. She returned the nod before facing the irate Sonya.

Before she could respond, Lucian interjected, โ€œThereโ€™s nothing wrong with us being together. Iโ€™m more curious about why you two are here at this hour.โ€

Sonya looked to Elias for support. He sighed in resignation. โ€œWhy did you call the police so late? The chief just informed me. Whatโ€™s going on?โ€
