Chapter 1508

โ€œItโ€™s really late. You should go to bed. Donโ€™t go anywhere for the next few days,โ€ Lucian reminded them.

The children nodded profusely.

โ€œOkay! Weโ€™ll be going to bed now!โ€ Archie said, casually leading Benny and Estella inside.

Lucian watched them leave the balcony, then turned to Roxanne, who was flushed. "They nearly caught us kissing this time," she thought, glaring at him. The last time, it had only been a hug.

โ€œItโ€™s really late. I thought they had all gone to bed,โ€ Lucian replied innocently.

Roxanne was speechless at his composure. โ€œAs you said, itโ€™s very late. I need to go to bed now. You should head home too, Mr. Farwell!โ€

He watched her flustered reaction with affection. As she passed, he caught her wrist, spun her around, and kissed her quickly.

โ€œTake good care of yourself. My phone will be on all the time, so call if anything happens,โ€ he said, releasing her.

Roxanne, momentarily stunned, recovered quickly. His deep, seductive voice erased any lingering negative emotions. โ€œYou too. Stay safe driving home, and let me know when you arrive.โ€

Lucian smiled and nodded, waiting until she entered the mansion before driving away. Roxanne watched his car disappear before returning to her room.

She opened the door to find the three children sitting on her bed. They turned excitedly at the sound.

Bennyโ€™s slightly disappointed question hung in the air: โ€œWhy did you come upstairs so soon, Mommy?โ€

Roxanne ignored his implication. โ€œIโ€™m asking the questions here. Why are you three still awake this late?โ€

The children exchanged silent glances. Finally, Estella, looking pitiful, said, โ€œI couldnโ€™t sleep because you werenโ€™t home yet, so I had Archie and Benny keep me company.โ€ She hugged Roxanneโ€™s thigh. โ€œItโ€™s all my fault, Mommy. Please donโ€™t blame Archie and Benny!โ€

Roxanne, whose soft spot for Estella had only grown since discovering her identity, patted her head. She then addressed Archie and Benny. โ€œOh, wellโ€ฆ I have something to tell you.โ€

The children sat up straight, looking serious. Roxanne spoke calmly. โ€œI need you to behave yourselves and bring your smartwatches to kindergarten. Stay with Ms. Ward after class. Do not leave until you see me. Understood?โ€

Even without explanation, the children, though too young to help directly, understood the gravity of the eveningโ€™s events. Their best course of action was to avoid causing Roxanne and Lucian further worry.

โ€œOkay!โ€ they nodded obediently.
