Chapter 1511

โ€œAs a matter of fact, I still donโ€™t know why Lucian called off your engagement,โ€ Shawn stated, his gaze fixed on her.

Hearing this, Aubree relaxed. Hope flickered in her eyes. โ€œIs there nothing going on between you and Roxanne?โ€

Surprised, Shawn retorted, โ€œWhy would you think there is?โ€

Aubree breathed a sigh of relief, then unleashed her pent-up resentment. โ€œIf it werenโ€™t for that bitch, I would have been Mrs. Farwell by now! Iโ€™ll never forgive her!โ€

Shawnโ€™s silence followed the change in her expression. A faint smile played on his lips. โ€œI can help you.โ€

Aubreeโ€™s heart skipped a beat. A calculating glint seemed to flash in Shawnโ€™s eyes.

He grew weary of pretense. โ€œI can arrange your departure from the country, but you must listen to my instructions upon arrival. It may be difficult, so I canโ€™t guarantee compliance.โ€

Desperate to escape, Aubree readily agreed. โ€œSure! Iโ€™ll do anything if you can help me!โ€

An agreement was reached. Shawnโ€™s tone softened. โ€œIโ€™ll ensure safe passage. I hope you wonโ€™t disappoint me.โ€

โ€œThank you so much.โ€ Aubreeโ€™s eyes gleamed with determination and vengefulness.

Frieda, having hidden outside, dreaded confronting the pair inside. Too afraid to leave alone, she finally entered the mansion.

โ€œAubree, how did it go?โ€ she asked cautiously.

Aubreeโ€™s expression answered her; relief washed over Frieda.

โ€œWhy did you leave?โ€ Aubreeโ€™s glare was icy. โ€œWhen I was in trouble, you abandoned me to face that lunatic alone. If I werenโ€™t leaving the country, Iโ€™d reprimand you.โ€

Frieda smiled placatingly. โ€œI was investigating,โ€ she explained. โ€œThe Farwells filed a police report, but with this gentlemanโ€™s help, you wonโ€™t have to worry.โ€

A grim look spread across Aubreeโ€™s face. The Farwells called the police! โ€œWhy is Lucian so heartless? My family is in ruins, and he wonโ€™t stop! Itโ€™s all that bitchโ€™s fault. She must have told him something! Roxanne Jarvis, Iโ€™ll teach you a lesson when I return!โ€

Frieda felt a chill. โ€œAubree, youโ€™re leaving soon; let it go. Whyโ€”โ€

โ€œShut up! You know nothing,โ€ Aubree interrupted. โ€œIโ€™ll be back! I wonโ€™t let that bitch off easily.โ€

Before Frieda could respond, Shawn descended the stairs, having dispatched his subordinate. Ignoring Frieda, he addressed Aubree. โ€œWe have no time. My subordinate awaits, Ms. Pearson. You may depart now.โ€

Aubree rose and left the mansion. Frieda, unwilling to remain, followed. Outside, she watched as Aubree was escorted into a sleek black car by a darkly clad man. The car sped away, leaving Frieda behind.
