Chapter 1512

For the next two days, the police made no progress. Farwell Group deployed all its resources, yet failed to locate Aubree in Herington. Cayden entered Lucian's office, his expression grim. "Mr. Farwell."

"Have you found Aubree?" Lucian's voice was glacial.

A chill ran down Cayden's spine; he sensed Lucian's fury. "We've yet to locate her, and the police have provided no updates."

The study felt almost subzero. A dark storm of anger gathered over Lucian. "What about Samuel and Gina? Did Aubree contact them?"

Cayden answered cautiously, "No. They ceased contact after her photos were leaked."

Observing Lucian's reaction, Cayden ventured, "I suspect Aubree has fled. She hasn't spoken to Ophelia in days; she must have sensed something was amiss."

Lucian shared his suspicion, remaining outwardly composed. Silence descended. Anxiety gnawed at Cayden.

Lucian broke the silence. "Continue monitoring the Pearsons and the search for Aubree. If she's escaped, she'd better not return. If she does, our men must find her first."

Cayden nodded curtly. "Understood!"

After relaying additional information, Cayden departed. The soft click of the door echoed. Lucian rose and went to the window, lost in thought.

Aubree's whereabouts remained unknown, a grave concern. Roxanne and the children were vulnerable. I'd considered assigning additional bodyguards, but my worries persisted. I longed to keep Roxanne close, but her independent spirit defied control. I must find another solutionโ€ฆ

The shrill ring of his phone startled him. It was Jonathan. He answered immediately.

"Lucian, any progress? Found Aubree?" Jonathan was aware of the situation.

Lucian's brow furrowed. "No. I suspect she's escaped, but I've ordered a continued search."

Jonathan was perplexed. "Farwell Group and the police are searching relentlessly. Even if she had wings, she couldn't fly out of the country! Is she in a shelter, or amongst the homeless?" He doubted Aubree could manage an escape alone, given her family's diminished influence. Her disappearance suggested a carefully concealed hiding place.

"My men thoroughly searched Herington," Lucian stated grimly.

Jonathan's voice grew heavy. "That woman is tenacious. Remind Roxanne to be cautious. I'll join the search."

Lucian, weary of the conversation, agreed and ended the call.
