Chapter 1516

Roxanne had intended to personally collect and drop off the three children at kindergarten, believing it would ease her mind. However, she became unexpectedly busy that evening and asked Linda to pick them up instead.

Half an hour later, Archie called. Assuming Linda hadn't arrived, Roxanne answered quickly. She heard Archie's hesitant voice: "Mommy, can we go home with Ms. Linda?"

Roxanne was momentarily stunned. Remembering she'd instructed the children not to go home with anyone else, she was surprised by their caution. "Yes, you can. I asked Ms. Linda to pick you up. You should go home now," she replied gently.

Archie agreed and hung up. Guilt washed over Roxanne. Aubree was still missing, and she should have stayed home. But the research for the new medication was urgent.

She considered this before calling Lucian. "Roxanne, what's wrong?" he asked immediately.

Roxanne explained, "Can I ask a favor? Could you please look after the children for a few days?"

Lucian, their father, was the obvious choice to ensure their safety. A surprised smile crossed his face. "Of course. I'm happy you trust me."

Relieved, Roxanne thanked him. Lucian asked, "Where are they now? Are they home?"

Roxanne checked the time. "I asked Linda to pick them up. They should be home by now. If it's convenient, could you take them to the manor?" She felt bad about potentially inconveniencing him with daily travel.

Lucian simply replied, "I understand. I'll go now. Come home soon. Don't overwork yourself."

Roxanne glanced at her experiment, feeling guilty, and hung up, returning to her work.

After the call, Lucian finished work and prepared to leave Farwell Group. He encountered Cayden waiting for the elevator.

"Mr. Farwell," Cayden greeted respectfully.

Lucian nodded and asked, "Which restaurant did you frequently order food from for me?"

Cayden was taken aback. He only regained his composure after Lucian entered the elevator. "Mr. Farwell, if you'd like food from there, I'll call them immediately to send it to the manor."

Lucian frowned. "Have them send it to Durwest Garden. And send me the restaurant's address."

Cayden deduced Lucian was taking food to Roxanne. He confirmed the order before contacting the restaurant and sending the address to Lucian.

Once they reached the ground floor, Cayden offered to drive Lucian, but Lucian declined and left.
