Chapter 1522
โMommy!โ
The children greeted her enthusiastically upon her arrival, but instead of their usual rush to greet her, they were diligently organizing their toys. Roxanne was puzzled. โWhat are you guys doing? If the manor doesn't have enough toys, I can buy more. There's no need to go to all this trouble.โ
Benny shook his head solemnly. โIt's not that. We won't be bringing these toys back here because we're moving in with Daddy.โ
Moving in with Lucian? They already lived with him. Why move their things again? Roxanne felt uneasy and stood uncertainly.
โDaddy is packing your things upstairs. Go have a look!โ Benny urged.
Shock registered on her face. โWhat?โ
โDon't you want to live with us, Mommy?โ Estella asked, her gaze both pitiful and hopeful. โI want to live with you and Daddy. Please move there with us!โ
Roxanne couldn't refuse her daughter's plea and went upstairs to find Lucian. She sighed inwardly. "Pack up your toys first. I'll go upstairs and have a look."
The children obediently continued packing. Roxanne ascended, her feelings a mixture of surprise and apprehension. It was a significant step to move in with him, yet he hadn't discussed it, simply having the children move their belongings.
Her bedroom door stood open, revealing Lucian packing. His movements were surprisingly methodical. However, her face flushed crimson upon seeing what he held. She quickly entered and snatched her undergarment from him.
โRoxanne? Youโre back.โ
Lucian's expression remained calm, as if he hadn't just been holding her undergarment. Blushing and frowning, Roxanne put it aside. โWhat are you doing?โ
Lucian glanced at her, then at his nearly-packed luggage. โThe children miss you a lot, so I figured Iโd move you in. That way, I can be at ease,โ he stated frankly.
Roxanne frowned. โI wasnโt asking you that.โ
โIโm sorry,โ Lucian smoothly amended. โI told the children to pack their things without your approval.โ His face betrayed no true remorse, but the apology was offered.
Roxanne accepted the reality. She realized her tolerance for Lucian was dwindling. Though displeased, she wasn't furious, only feeling helpless. โI told you I can take care of myself. Besides, with our current relationship, Iโm afraid itโs unwise for me to live in the manor.โ
Lucian frowned. โWhy not?โ
Roxanne began to explain, โThe online discussion has finally just settled downโโ
Before she finished, Lucian kissed her. โIโll take care of it. No one will dare to spread nonsense.โ
