Chapter 1530: Can We Call You Grandpa?

Despite her attempt to soften her tone, Roxanne's voice remained cold and harsh when discussing Archie and Benny. Sonya was speechless, her fork suspended mid-air. Finally, she said, "Well, I hope you'll look after your sons and ensure they don't address Elias however they please."

Benny looked at Roxanne, then at Sonya, immediately defending his mother. "But Grandpa is very happy when we call him that. We can call you something else, since you don't like 'Grandma.'"

Sonya flushed with anger, knowing he was right. Tension filled the dining room.

Roxanne was surprised by Benny's comment but acknowledged its truth; Elias and Sonya were, in fact, their grandparents. Instead of reprimanding Benny, she offered Elias an apologetic glance.

Elias nodded reassuringly. "Let's calm down and enjoy our meal. We're adults; we shouldn't let children's words upset us." He then served Sonya more food. "Relax. After breakfast, I'll take you shopping. Didn't you mention liking a particular bag?"

A mix of emotions crossed Sonya's face as she stared at the food. "Hmph. You're taking their side," she grumbled. "I can't eat this. You can continue." She glared at Roxanne before storming upstairs.

After a while, Sonya returned downstairs, changed clothes, and quickly left the house.

"I apologize for interrupting your meal, Mr. Farwell," Roxanne said apologetically.

Elias dismissed her concern and turned to Catalina. "Send someone to look after Sonya. Buy her anything she wants and keep me informed of her location at all times."

Catalina nodded and immediately instructed the staff. "Don't mind her. She's just stubborn. She'll come around eventually. Just look how she treated Aubree these past six years."

After ensuring Sonya's well-being, Elias spoke up for her. Roxanne nodded in acknowledgment. "I understand." She simply didn't know when Sonya would change her perspective.

"Gran..." Benny hesitated, then asked cautiously, "Grandpa Farwell, can we still call you Grandpa?" Despite his earlier boldness, he felt guilty about Sonya's departure.

Roxanne's heart ached for Benny; she turned to Elias nervously, fearing a negative response. Elias, however, seemed surprised by the question. He stared at Benny for a few seconds before replying with a smile. "Of course, you can. I've always wanted a grandson. You two are so well-behaved, you more than make up for it."

Roxanne breathed a sigh of relief, offering Elias a grateful look.

"Grandpa!" Archie and Benny exclaimed joyfully, relieved by Elias's answer.
