Chapter 1544: Pure Intentions

Roxanne felt relieved. She was glad she'd remained wary of Jack. "Luckily," she said, flashing a grateful smile at Lucian, "I asked for your advice. Otherwise, I'd likely have fallen into his trap."

Lucian, happy she'd seen Jack's true colors, replied with a suggestive look, "You can consult me anytime. I won't charge you."

Roxanne blushed, pushed him away, and then, seeing his smile, breathed a sigh of relief as he shifted to more serious matters. "It might be beneficial if Damaris Group withdraws. While their herbs are superior, they're still ordinary herbs lacking special medicinal properties. Even without them, the institute can acquire high-quality herbs from other companies at a higher price, solving the supply issue."

Regarding sales, he continued, "That's even less of a problem. Most companies have online platforms and customer bases. A good product sells itself. If you're worried, Farwell Group's technology department can build a specialized platform for you."

Roxanne was touched but felt using Farwell Group's top technology team for this would be wasteful. She smiled, saying, "If Damaris Group refuses, I'll find another collaborator."

Lucian then added, "However, a failed collaboration means wasting the effort you invested in building a relationship with them. You joined those medical consultations because of their ancient medical arts. A broken relationship means your efforts are for naught."

Roxanne fell into a daze. "But I always believed their intentions were pure, that they truly cared about advancing medical treatment..." She realized they were far more commercially driven than she'd imagined.

Lucian casually rubbed her hand. "If you feel it's a pity, compromise. You'll just make less moneyโ€”consider it tuition. Let me know if you need extra funding."

Though upset, Roxanne found his words amusing. "What do you take me for? I'm curious about their ancient medical arts, but their skills aren't omnipotent. We all have different capabilities. If I can't learn from them, I can further advance my own skills. Besides, I'm responsible for the institute staff. I won't shortchange them because of my personal interests."
