Chapter 1556: We Want To Learn Everything

“Let’s try on the clothes, Mommy!” Estella tugged lightly on Roxanne’s hand, noticing her mother’s somber mood.

Roxanne glanced down, understanding her daughter’s attempt to distract her. She nodded and went upstairs with the little girl.

Meanwhile, Archie and Benny began exploring the functions of their laptops. Lucian sat beside them, initiating a bonding moment. “What would you two like to learn? I don’t mind teaching you.”

Archie and Benny were about to log in when their father joined them. Fearful of revealing their identities, they stilled.

Archie feigned innocence. “What can you teach us, Daddy? We want to learn everything!”

Lucian considered their age, struggling to find a suitable subject. Faced with their eager gazes and his own suggestion, he declared, “I’ll teach you some simple programming.”

Archie noticed Benny’s reluctance. For a world-renowned hacker, this was undoubtedly torture. Benny, however, feigned enthusiasm, bobbing his head to maintain their disguise.

“Thank you, Daddy!”

Relieved, Lucian grabbed a laptop and began downloading software. Archie and Benny exchanged commiserating glances.

Suddenly, Roxanne’s voice drifted in. “Well? Is Essie pretty?”

Startled, Archie and Benny turned. Roxanne stood with Estella, both wearing matching dresses. Estella, with tiny wings, looked angelic. Roxanne wore a beautiful blue maxi dress.

Accustomed to their mother’s beauty, and unenthusiastic about programming, Archie and Benny leaped up and rushed to Estella.

“Essie is as pretty as a picture! Did you also look the same when you were little, Mommy?” Archie asked, complimenting both mother and sister.

“Essie is lovely! Are the wings retractable?” Benny inquisitively examined the wings.

Estella, cherishing the wings, hid behind Roxanne when her brother showed interest in removing them. Benny persisted.

Soon, all three children were playing tag. Roxanne watched them, her face filled with tenderness.

Catalina called out, “Ms. Estella, Mr. Archie, Mr. Benny, be careful…” The children, still playing, ran out of the mansion, prompting Catalina to chase after them.

Silence descended upon the living room. Roxanne then noticed Lucian, laptop in hand. “What are you doing?” she asked, approaching curiously, unaware of his darkened expression.

Lucian’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he replied in a low voice, “Archie and Benny are very smart. Computer skills can be cultivated from a young age, so I’m planning to teach them personally.”

Roxanne, facing his back, didn't notice his demeanor. She leaned against the couch, peering at the laptop screen. Just as she was about to speak, Lucian slammed the laptop shut.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, turning to him, but he silenced her with a kiss.
