Chapter 1559: Wish Life Could Be Thus Every Day

Roxanne listened intently to Lucian's explanation. He added, "All you need to do is hold firm to Jack's bottom line, then gradually increase the profit percentage. If he truly wants the profits, he'll concede."

Roxanne nodded in understanding. "I understand."

Lucian arched a brow. "As expected of the Farwell family's mistress. You're quite clever."

Teasingly, Roxanne feigned irritation, snapping her head back to order Catalina to prepare the guest room. Catalina was nowhere in sight.

"Who are you looking for?" Lucian asked, his tone suggesting he knew exactly.

"Where's Catalina?" Roxanne huffed.

Lucian anticipated her response, regarding her with amusement. "Why would she be here when this is our time alone?" He increased the pressure of his massage. "Or do you want her to witness how I serve you?"

Roxanne blushed crimson and raised her hands to stop him.

Lucian chuckled, apologizing. "Okay, I'm sorry. I dismissed her because I knew you'd be shy."

Roxanne's expression softened. Lucian then asked meaningfully, "I'm a pretty good advisor, huh? Aren't you going to thank me for teaching you so much earlier?"

Roxanne stilled. Looking up, she saw him intently studying her, his gaze lingering on her lips. Understanding his implication, she calmly put down her fork and asked, "Wasn't that what I deserved? I even passed out last night."

At the mention of the previous night, Lucian dropped his playful demeanor. Smiling, he agreed, "Indeed, it was what I owed you. I misspoke. But you're worn out today. The matter with Jack can wait. Just rest at home for the day if nothing is urgent." He glanced at her waist with concern.

His scrutiny both mortified and irritated her. Her waist ached, leaving her no choice but to relent and rest. Still, she felt bad about the employees at the research institute.

"Don't you have to go to work?" she asked, her gaze fixed on him.

"Not today. I'm staying home to take care of you."

Seeing she had finished eating, Lucian scooped her up and carried her upstairs. Knowing resistance was futile, Roxanne allowed him. He carefully placed her on the bed, then returned with a plethora of snacks and a glass of water.

Just as she expected him to go to his study, he flipped back the covers, snuggled beside her, and pulled her into his arms.

"Are you sure you shouldn't be going to the office? Or at least handling some work online?" Roxanne remained slightly anxious.

Lucian hugged her, kissing her neck. "Today, nothing is more important than you. I tired you out all night, and you had to wake early for work. That was my mistake. I won't repeat it."

Recalling her feelings that morning, Roxanne contrasted them with the bliss of his embrace. A smile bloomed on her face.

"How I wish life could be like this every day."

Feeling her soft body in his arms, Lucian unconsciously tightened his embrace.
