Chapter 1564: Taught You Well

Seeing Jack's capitulation, Roxanne inwardly sighed with relief and continued lowering Damaris Group's profit split. "Damaris Group will take thirty-five percent," she stated.

He scowled. "You really know how to conduct business, Ms. Jarvis. I'm impressed."

Roxanne replied calmly, "I merely stated the facts. Besides, we'll be purchasing the medicinal herbs ourselves in the future, so Damaris Group won't suffer any losses."

"Seems Mr. Farwell taught you well," Jack sneered.

She shifted the conversation. "The collaboration between the research institute and Damaris Group isn't long-term. This profit split applies only to this project. Future collaborations will be discussed separately."

Jack's smile faltered. "As expected, Mrs. Farwell. You're an expert."

Roxanne's countenance darkened. His constant references to Lucian irritated her. "If you want to speak with Mr. Farwell, I don't mind calling him."

He stared meaningfully at her. "You've changed since getting together with Mr. Farwell, Ms. Jarvis. You were just a doctor. When did you become so opportunistic?"

He implied Lucian was using her. Roxanne found this amusing. I wonder if he'd say the same if he knew Lucian instructed me to accept the fifty percent split and use this opportunity to learn from the Damaris family, she thought.

He narrowed his eyes, sensing her thoughts. His expression turned frigid as he glanced at the aroma lamp. Then, he smoothly changed the subject. "How will you price this batch of medicine, Ms. Jarvis?"

Roxanne had already considered this. Before she could reply, he continued, gazing intently at her. "Similar medicines overseas, despite being less effective, range from seven hundred to one thousand each. Some sell for over ten thousand." His greed was evident.

Ignoring him, she stated, "One hundred and twenty."

Jack's disbelief was palpable. "One pill costs one hundred and twenty?"

Roxanne corrected him, furrowing her brow. "One box."

He was bewildered. "Did you do no market research? The market price is at least triple that! Even without considering the market, you won't break even! Do you know the cost of Damaris Group's herbs? It seems I overestimated Mr. Farwell. His teachings are clearly inadequate. You're naive."
