Chapter 1571: A Similar Situation
Cayden rushed to the office after a nine o'clock call from the IT manager. He stared, shocked, at the screen displaying a video of three children dancing nude. Naturally, he couldn't solve a problem their technicians couldn't. He was about to call the police when an employee said, "Wait a minute... This situation seems familiar..."
All eyes turned to him. The employee nervously scratched his head. "If I recall correctly, Pearson Group suffered a similar attack. Their screens also showed a child dancing. Mr. Farwell sent me to resolve itโ"
His supervisor interrupted, smacking his head. "If you know what this is, fix it!"
"I couldn't fix it then. Mr. Farwell resolved the issue and repaired Pearson Group's security system," the employee explained.
Nervous glances were exchanged. Farwell Group paid them handsomely. What good were they if they couldn't handle a simple virus and had to bother Mr. Farwell? The technicians sighed helplessly, staring at the dancing children. They knew they were outmatched, fearing data corruption, and called for help.
"You continue working on this while I contact Mr. Farwell," Cayden decided, swallowing his pride and calling Lucian.
Meanwhile, at the Farwell residence, Lucian was about to take his family for a walk after dinner when Cayden called. His face fell upon hearing the IT department needed him to fix a firewall hack. "Got it, I'll be right there."
"What's wrong?" Roxanne asked, confused.
"Something at work. I need to check it out," Lucian replied, grabbing his coat and leaving.
The children exchanged glances at his serious expression. Could that be because of the virus I planted? Shouldn't everyone be off work by now? It was a simple virus; they shouldn't need Daddy's help, right? Benny reassured himself as they watched television. Silence fell over the living room. Roxanne felt downcast, remembering her earlier negotiation with Jack.
Lucian rushed to Farwell Group. He felt a strange sense of familiarity seeing the three children dancingโtwo boys and a girl. The boys' resemblance to his own children, coupled with Roxanne's earlier comments, made him pause.
Confused, the supervisor approached cautiously. "Mr. Farwell, this is similar to the Pearson Group incident."
Lucian glanced at him, sat at a workstation, and typed a command. Seconds later, code appeared on the screen. The employees gathered, gasping in awe as Lucian effortlessly neutralized the virus in minutes.
